I glanced up at the TV, American Pickers show is playing. A flash of turquoise catches my eye.

There's at least one running Invacar in the States, has the same controls as TWC, too.

Pre 1986 and German. What else do you need?

Pre 1939. Before they burnt their bridges.

One of these old men is younger than my son.

he's only young on the outside- he likes ovlovs & giffer rovers FFS!

I finally have my very own drill, after years of borrowing other people's.  Okay, so the chuck says "made in W Germany" and the date stamp on the side says 1983, but it's mine and it works and it was free, so I'm not complaining.

 pitchers or your lying :P

Liked but through gritted teeth.

Jealousy is a terrible thing.

Sorry, not meant to be smug, but it's been a tough 25 years. Almost emotional walking out of the building society today.

Spent a couple of hours this morning with a very pleasant bloke pulling parts of a 90s mustang I'm breaking.

He turned up on time, paid the money and we spent a happy couple of hours pulling bits off the car.  Restored my faith in human nature as it turns out not everyone on craigslist/ebay/gumtree is a chancer.

I think you have to go in so they can give you your title deeds back.

Yeah that'd make sense, I'd forgot about them as I've never paid a mortgage off.

The now ex and me were almost at the point where we could have made some big payments off our mortgage and been clear in a couple of years . Not bad to be mortgage free at 42 these days but since we split I’m starting again with a 100k 25 yr one . Oh well better than renting I suppose

Tetley is now planning a massive party to celebrate paying off his mortgage....by taking out a 25 year loan secured against his property

I finished my mortgage today. That's gotta be grin worthy.

More than grin worthy that, well done sounds patronising because it's hard work, had a mortgage since I was 18 and it will be a good day when it's paid off!

The banner has been found??!

alcyonecorporation got sick of the banner some time ago - I think it might have been before he moved to Peebo, as in order to get rid of it he gave it to Junkman, who proceeded to do nothing with it. At local meetings in Glossop in early 2017, JM and Conrad made a couple of vague references to it without saying what it was. These puzzled me a bit but didn't go unnoticed.

At Shitefest '17 someone mentioned the banner in the presence of alcyonecorp, after something was said I put two and two together, asked Jon, and he confirmed that Junkman had it. I PM'd him asking for it - I had to visit him anyway to deliver an XJ40 wing that had found its way to SF17 with RichardK I believe, who had no intention of taking it home again, so was palmed off on JM and Conrad who happened to have an XJ40 at the time, via me and my Rover 200 (which also had all my camping gear and two bicycles in it).

So I went up after I left the Bubble Car Museum, and I've had The Banner ever since. Over the past year it's been to Chumley, a few local car shows in Manchester, SF18, and most recently the Field of Dreams. It's always in my car boot so comes to every AS gathering I'm at, and is put up wherever possible and won't cause offence.

I saw a Mk2 Escort 1.6 Ghia on my drive home today. It was slightly down at heel with at least one front wing finished in primer and had 4 spotlights on the front.

7587 miles had it since February 15th. I work out the 20k limit per year on a weekly basis so I'm under my limit by a good few hundred miles anyway. New car was ordered yesterday

I paid it off a couple of months early.

Had to sit in a back office and speak directly to the mortgage department.

I won't get the deeds for about another month or so, when I will lodge them at a solicitors.

The month's delay due to land registry checks apparently.
