Leave them in the boot or you will never find them if needed.

(Until you buy another replacement)

It's too bloody hot (weather man says 32 feels like 37) but I decided to try risk heat exhaustion in the sun and tidied up the flowers because the weeds are growing rampant.

Worth it, looks nice when it's all tidy.

Had this wild ass idea about going to work on the car and doing the suspension but.. meh. Maybe tomorrow.

Made these yesterday, and today. Absolutely amazing and dead easy.

I've no idea how, but smashing them down like this keeps the burger incredibly moist. By far and away the best burger I've ever made, I'll never buy pre-made burgers again, they're shit in comparison.

Most gastropub 4cm thick, dry as fuck super tall impossible to eat burgers are a pox on the industry and should be outlawed.

My mate has had his nova off road for years shoved up the corner of his yard where he couldnt work on it and has not had any motivation on it because it wouldn't run, so popped around earlier unearthed it made it run to show him nothing major is wrong (fuel pump is buggered) and moved it so he can work on it, fingers crossed that it gives him the motivation to get it back on road

I finally have my very own drill, after years of borrowing other people's.  Okay, so the chuck says "made in W Germany" and the date stamp on the side says 1983, but it's mine and it works and it was free, so I'm not complaining.

It's also orange.  All the best power tools are orange.

It just means its a quality bit of kit,i still use an aged black and decker that as far back as I can remember my dad always had, its outlived many newer drills it will probably outlive me

My sister has finally sold her caravan.

This means there is some space on my "driveway".

I think it is time to remove my self imposed ban on the ebay tat thread … I have space and currently lack a working large/estate car.

Replaced the driver's door handle on the C5 - £26 from Poland for a brand new one.

Stripping the door card and usual bits proved to be a lot less painful than anticipated, new handle just popped straight on, no messing (I did spend five minutes trying to find the screws holding the old one on - there were none :) it just hangs on with a couple of tags.

Replacing the door card not so simple to get it lined up right but managed without breaking anything.

Window and mirror controls took ages.

I've had them off a couple of times previously to clean as the contact pads get dirty and fail to work.

Interesting failures on reassembly, drivers window would go down but not up.  On the second attempt it went up but not down.

The membrane with the carbon pads on is slightly out of shape and the moulded in pins don't fit the holes that keeps it aligned.

Third time luck though :)

Had expected an all day job but 90mins and done - as am I after being out in the sun for that long.

Saw a gorgeous MK1 Cortina two streets away. Our estate has loads and loads of classics of various sorts but I didn’t know about this one. I know the guy who lives there as he walks his dog past our house every day so I will make sure I get to chat to him when I can.

My parents are awesome. They telephoned yesterday, said they wanted to come round as they had something to give us.

Today they turned up with these; swivel chairs made from the front seats out of my old MG Metro (which have been in their loft for the last twenty years for some reason).

The wife hasn't seen them yet.

From Surrey hills MTB Facebook just now ( but aeons old),

My mate has two tickets for Red bull Hard line on September the 18th He didn't realise that it's going to be on the same day as his wedding, so obviously he can't go.

If you're interested and want to go instead of him, it's at St. Andrew's Church in Cambridge and her name is Sarah...

Surely worth a feature on the telly?

Surely worth a feature on the telly?

Could be, especially as all the streets are named after classic car makers.

Bought myself a harmonica for no apparent reason, spent the evening teaching myself a couple of songs. I can now go forth and torture the local neighbourhood.

Hell.  I've had an unopened can of coke in my car for weeks.  I had better get the bomb disposal chaps to remove it for me.

I'm safe, I've just got a crate of lighter fluid aerosols. None of that dangerous Rola Cola for me

I got off lightly then! Left two crates of old speckled hen in the van for a few days days, and all the bottoms of the cans have ballooned out so they don't stand up anymore.

I've just had six PPI claims against First Direct identified going back to the mid 90s. No idea how much yet but I know I was borrowing a lot back then should it should be a nice little cheque when it's all sorted out.
