Reading the Press releases about the new Roller 4x4 today, amongst the usual features , great emphasis was made about the only unique* and innovative * feature of this £250,000 ( basic , before options) 2.7 tonne leviathan ; The secondary window behind the back seat to keep the temperature constant iin the cabin when the tailgate is open.

Yes, exactly the same as the Citroen XM almost 30 years ago!

Just had the 306 collected by a guy in a VW LT tow truck. He was barely 20 by my guess. Did the V5, gave me the cash and went his merry way. eBay is okay sometimes.

Disco 3/4 weighs as much as that to be fair

Dirty dark dubstep is making me grin right now. Makes up for the FUGGIN IDIOTS out doing a treasure hunt in their cars, so randomly just stopping and crawling along at 10mph looking for clues. IDIOTS. But the bass is making purring noises in my ears and I feel better now. The cat looks not-amused.

15 bottles turned up today!!! That it's self was exciting but they only cost £5!

This time I promise to drink them all unlike the bottles I saved in the garage that have gone flat.

Love metal drummers, and their lovely little drummer faces. Never seen one that doesn't have a range of gurns.

Bloody talented though.

Aye. Can't say I'm really a Slipknot fan, but I do love the drumming. Oh, what's that? Drums without the Slipknot?

I love that yellow thing in the sky,

I spotted this as I came from the gym

I saw it pulling onto a petrol station so I followed it on, spoke to the owner and he has had it for 30 odd years him and his mrs looked very happy in the old girl, he seemed quite confused that someone was showing an interest in it

Saw a Saab 900 with a camper conversion yesterday!

Looked like a homemade bodge but I Googled it and it is a proper product you can buy.

Doesn't Saabnut have one?

Sadly not, a Toppola is missing from the collection, and at the prices they fetch it is likely to remain so!

It's pop from Malta. Said by many to taste like medicine but floor cleaner might be similar.

Think I’ve finalky found one of the fly tippers locally. It’s who I expected it was, they were actually lobbing stuff over their fence in to the pavement behind and the woman was upstairs throwing fast food wrappers from the bedroom window into her back garden.

There’s still loads of black bags and shit floating about, guess who’s getting that back at 3.00am?

Stepdaughter's report card at Parents' Evening last night. She's doing entry level car mechanics. Very proud.

attachicon.gifreport card.jpg

Upper half is practical assessment (4 distinctions, 2 merits and 2 passes), bottom is the theory side. 2nd in the class overall with an average mark of 94% and is earmarked for an apprenticeship at the local VW dealer. I think she's going to make a bloody good mechanic when she's all growed up.

She's already said that drum brakes are "fucking awful fucking fuckers that can fuck off". Good girl!

EDIT - parents' evening was last week, we got the report card yesterday after she came home from college!

Following on from this, stepdaughter came home from college rather late yesterday. She had a practical assessment on transmissions. Had to whip out the 'box, change clutch, refit 'box and then overhaul the driveshafts with fresh CV grease and boots on a Civic. Another distinction!

All theory modules completed. 100% for both the drivetrain and suspension modules (the final two) giving her an average of 95% throughout the whole year, and joint first in the class with her closest rival Melanie.

She also proudly announced she was bisexual last night, which I think is going to do a lot to help her teenage angst as well. How her b/f is going to take this news I don't know.....

Mrs D and I are massively proud.

He'll be made up, although as her parents you don't want to think too much about the reasons why this will please him so much.

Great news about the scores though, that's brilliant.

TBH I think he is closeted, or at least bisexual himself. He's certainly not α-male material, very very effeminate in parlance and body language. They're both off college on the same days each week and have 2 days a week where they could be together uninterrupted until mid afternoon, yet he would rather be doing something else girly or geeky, than spend time with madam. Even when he leaves and she goes to give him a smooch, he always saus something like "uh-uh, on the cheek"

Stepdaughter's feelings for him are definitely on the wane so I think he's going to get dumped soon anyway!

Another thing that's made me grin this morning is Mrs D cooking me this massive Slimming World friendly fry up! Spent most of the morning packing boxes for the upcoming house move so it's well earned reward methinks.

Only naughty points are for the brown sauce I dolloped on it.

Problem is all that would be fit for the bin with no brown sauce, so it's justified

Hmmm

Yep, she's very open and has smooched & cuddled on the sofa with previous "boyfriends" in front of both me & mrs D. I've seen her on the sofa try to cuddle up to him and he backs off or says not now. Might be nerves in front of me/mrs D/us granted but I think he's wasting her time TBH.

I can tell it's now getting tedious for stepdaughter, hence the might get shot of him soon feeling.

I dunno, I've had plenty of breakfasts without any sauce and just as tasty.

Just not ketchup. Ketchup is poisonous.

My grin was a trip to Screwfix last night for new boots. It was quiet and the staff are friendly and on seeing the state of my old boots asked when I got them. As it was less than a year he found the invoice on the system and replaced them for free.

Won't be complaining about having to log in with the key fob again.
