I have flu. Never had it before now I know what people mean about the flu!

It took over 2hrs to get out of bed, I couldn't stay there cos I have the kids.

Anyway why would this be in the grin thread?

The postman knocked on the door. About 5mins later I finally shuffled to the door doubled over and opened it a crack. "Don't come near I have flu!"

"Will you take a parcel for nextdoor?"

"Sure but you are going to have to just leave it there for now because I can't manage the dog"

"Great thanks, I'll just put a card through nextdoor"

Couple of minutes later the door goes again.

Postie: "Listen, are you really ok, can I do anything? Do you need some help with anything?"

Reader, I could have cried.

Got a bit of a crush now actually.

Awwww! Sweet :-)

My grin tonight? Listening to deep dub reggae at 1.20 am after an ace night at the pub, work well in hand, about to go on ski trip in 2 days, and I've just bought a daft V8

What's not to like?

Someone left this note for me in a remote part of the plant at work. Genuinely no idea who wrote it, but it’s brilliant:

OK so the wage might be crap having an as and when job but being able to go to Weatherspoons for your dinner when you want more than makes up for it

Just turned telly on whilst having me lunch, flicking through channels looking for Babestation and found ITV3 showing old Coronation Streets.

Here's Kevin when he was the apprentice , Brian ( ask your mum) is negotiating to sell up, for £16,000 to Alan Bradley .

He's just done a ' rush starter motor job' on this

It's a rare outside episode with Brian in his Escort van and Gail's new boyfriend has got a Mk2 Granada estate, in the sort of condition I remember cars always were in the early 80's.

Blimey, those were the days. You couldn’t have a new supermarket then without having Chris Quinten (Brian Tilsley) come and open it.

Wasn't his van a heap?!

It's a shame they didn't start repeating the earlier ones. 70s and 80s Corrie is the best. Soaps all got ridiculous in the 90s and went downhill from there!

Very true. Corrie was never the same after Hilda left.

Edit: actually now I think about it, most of the world turned to poo after Hilda left Corrie, although I’m not sure that was as a direct consequence.

Is that your "Junkman" moment? "Any car built after Hilda left Corrie is shite"

He did one by ours, as did Phil Mitchell

Yes, I believe it is. That’s now official.

Maybe introduced after Hilda left Corrie, otherwise it includes my Audi 80 which I rather like.

She did turn up as Aunty Wainwright on Last Of The Summer Wine, though, which probably improved that show no end.

Feel free to tweak- after all, it's your moment!

It must be about the same time, surely?

With the crv hopefully fixed soon, I stuck a speculative for sale ad for the civic on gumtree - the damn thing has only gone and sold :)

A bloke turned up this afternoon, had a quick look around, took it for a run round the block then produced a bundle of money - slightly less than I was hoping for but a nice easy sale and money in the bank.

Which just leaves me with the little mx5 to use until the crv is ready, let's hope there isn't any snow in the next week or so

Dealer stickers arrived from Herr Ruff yesterday, thanks Tim.

Just need to buy something to put them on now.

Good news, you have a nice splitter on the front of the mx5 so any snow will be pushed out of the way by that!

I should probably take the track tyres off though :)

Driving home this afternoon I had a wtf moment.

A Renault Laguna MK1 in the opposite carriage way dressed as a Sheriffs car, black and white paint job, light bar across the roof, sheriff badges on the doors and bonnet.

Additional grin : I checked the cash at the time but when I took it to the bank, the cashier fed it into her counting machine and told me there was £20 too much - I didn't argue :)

And another thing : I've just taken the mx5 out for a quick drive (been off the road since 1st Dec) and I absolutely flipping love this car - so much fun :)

I remember him adjusting the tappets on a Mondeo mk2 a few years ago.

Finally had a Frenchman reply about a Monet Goyon Starlette. Looks like I have got a pair to pick up on the way home from Barcelona

No I haven't driven one sadly. To be honest they're on a list along with SM and XM.

I'd always wanted an XM really badly, right up until the point where i actually got one.

Manatees and dugongs make me smile. I have no idea what made me fascinated with these creatures.

Got faces that only a mother could love but they're so graceful in the water for something that weighs half a ton and quite like human contact. And they have flippernails.

Will be swimming with some of these delightful creatures in April
