STUNO Posted February 26, 2018 Posted February 26, 2018 Some hopefully a litter happier news to counter the very sad news elsewhere. We have absolutely no idea what to call this little fellow: IMG_20180226_200335081.jpgBirth went almost exactly to plan, except for meaning I didn't get a chance to continue the scooby thread on Sunday. And since we're hippies, or hipsters, or something, that means a middle of the night VBAC in a pool in the bedroom. Call him whatever you like, even Austin or Morris. Just do not call him Losertwo, he will hate being named after dad.Congratulations to all three. Lord Sterling, GrumpiusMaximus, cms206 and 2 others 5
vulgalour Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Had a totally excellent and pleasant transaction on eBay. It was a refund at that! Broken part supplied, refund offered no quibble. Little person name suggestion: Casey Reese (say it out loud) Ghosty and loserone 2
Slartibartfast Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Congratulations, Loserone. I must be going mad because I actually think Austin sounds like an awesome name. Double congratulations on the VBAC since I know what a big deal that can be. What we can see of him is very cute.
AlabamaShrimp Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Congratulations, May I suggest Austin as a name for the little fella, if your really stuck maybe you could get 59 people to suggest names and let the bonus ball decide, have a roffle for his nameMy sons called Austin. It's nice but one of those names people always get wrong. Women across the road was convinced he was called Oscar the other day. Saying people always get my name wrong too.. Anyway congratulations.

PhilA Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 I'm sorry they make me put it in bottles20180129_100447.jpg(I got some it's like weird thin mayonnaise)https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bonappetit.com/recipe/alabama-white-sauce/amp Apparently it's a thing. I've never heard of it, but in general, things made in Alabama tend to stay in Alabama (and create more things in Alabama, from Alabama, but that's a whole nother thing). Phil Tadhg Tiogar 1
DodgeRover Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Just for a little while this morning me, the dog, squirrels and deer were the only living things around And the 4wd system on the lexus is confidence inspiring! DeeJay, Datsuncog, twosmoke300 and 3 others 6
Datsuncog Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Grin at finding a bunch of retro stamps finally fulfilling their destiny after 40 years (?) on my weekend eBay purchase. Legal tender, innit? vulgalour, strangeangel, Exiled_Tat_Gatherer and 3 others 6
xtriple Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Just phoning my isurance company (on the mobile) and the house phone starts ringing, I ignored it and stayed on hold. Anyway, guy picks up my call and says: 'Is that Mr Towers?''Yes, how do you know?''Because I was just ringing your home phone and there was no answer, so I assumed....' Amazing coincidence? so, Mazda is taxed, insured and MOTd for another year. Wonder if I'll manage more than 400 miles this year. Exiled_Tat_Gatherer and catsinthewelder 2

Hertz Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Just managed to bag a pair of Rolling Stones tickets for Old Trafford on my Birthday. Something to look forward to. Banger Kenny, Ghosty, danthecapriman and 4 others 7
Datsuncog Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 This was sent to you with those stamps on? Yup, it was indeed - found in the letterbox yesterday evening, having been ordered up on Friday. A total of 77p face value in stamps, which tallies with the current 76p postage rate for a large letter weighing less than 100g - all franked and apparently accepted by Royal Mail. I'd never really given it much thought, but since supposedly stamps fall into the category of 'legal tender' (never had the brass neck to try to use them for a bus fare or in Tesco, mind) then I'm guessing they're always worth their face value, as they're never officially withdrawn like banknotes? Louise2cv Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 My fella often buys old postcards on eBay and frequently we get them sent with 70s/80s stamps. Some picture ones which are easy to date and lots of 1/2p ones. I suppose it might say something about the kind of freaks and weirdos who collect this old junk. But we know otherwise captain_70s, AlabamaShrimp and Datsuncog 3
Datsuncog Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Double Kermit. I'm not much of a fan of the Scirocco/SquishedGolfo, but a grin was provoked nonetheless.
pshome Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 For reasons of no importance, today i had to move the blue 504 GL from where it had been parked since October to some other place across town. It is freezing at -10 C today. Open door, take a seat, turn key, starts up right away, comfy and warm inside after the second traffic light. Took the long way, big grin all the way. myglaren, Slartibartfast, Scruffy Bodger and 5 others 8
fordperv Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Picked up the stepway which is the surprise for mil fps 50th earlier, I was well chuffed they included the tax in with the price of the car, put £15 of fuel in and was insured for collection so no messing about changing insurances or taking out new policies, can't wait for the unveiling now but that's not until 1 week today, I will post pictures of how we are giving it to her, I hope she doesn't have a heart attack The Moog 1
Guest Hooli Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 If it's new then buying tax is part of registering it I believe. Slartibartfast 1
fordperv Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 its 64 plate but only got 15k miles on, it was a bargain as it was only a couple of hundred quid more than one of the same age that nearer to 100k miles on it
clayts450 Posted February 27, 2018 Posted February 27, 2018 Getting home from work today and being able to thrust my freezing cold hands into Casper-cat's tightly curled up and sleeping body for an instant 'living hot water bottle experience'. Then walking upstairs and doing exactly the same with Trixie-bean-cat.

Jazoli Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 That crusty camper lives on the main road down to Bowness, which is probably where you saw it, the local snobs hate it. Pic of the crusty camper, it's pretty good really. chodweaver, Cavcraft, catsinthewelder and 2 others 5

robinmasters Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Every time the current Corsodyl (mouthwash) advert is on (every break it seems) in my head I hear the narration as 'If you shit blood, you may have bum disease'. Nothing funny about shitting blood, but for those of you from forrin 'bum disease' was the UK equivalent of cooties when I was at school. twosmoke300, Talbot, Jerzy Woking and 1 other 4
John F Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 So, a mate of mine was off playing soldiers in Albania with the RAF Regiment last summer. He brought me this back - the fuel filler cover off a MiG-15 jet he found in a military scrapyard Not sure what to use it for yet. purplebargeken, coalnotdole, drum and 12 others 15
