Managed to get 2 of my 3 nephews playing Forza Horizon. They got the hang of going backwards and forwards, less so steering or holding the pad the right way around

I'm quite happy at how good the little AX is on the motorways. Yes, I have other people in bigger cars try to bully me but it really does hold its own, and I don't ache at all, after two 150 mile journeys today. Am I the one weirdo who finds the offset tiny pedals comfortable?

I also grinned seeing a ropey MK2 Golf on the M25 this evening, and then a H reg Charade on the M4, which also looked a bit tired....

The offset pedals "problem" is a load of shite, a properly small small car always has it: it's just bad driving if you can't modify your style to suit.

I've found the complete Jonathan Meades back catalogue on Vimeo (meadesshrine). I forgot how well a wry look at a particular subject can be delivered through the media of television.

My size 10 work boots disagree.

Ax was the only car I ever needed a change of shoes to drive.

Bollocks is it.

My wanky knee says I can't drive anything with offset pedals for more than about 20mins without limping for the rest of the day.

What type did you get?

Epson XP332, on clearance in Tesco.

Said years ago I'd never have another Epson printer but was in a bit of a bind. Don't really mind binning this one if it goes tits up or the cartridges are £72000 :)

When I had the Y10 loan car I had to take my shoes off when driving to avoid hitting two pedals at once, and I'm only a size 10

I've never had to take my shoes off to drive but I always used to hit the wheel arch when trying to drive Metros, I'm size 13

If you have sky or something that you can view animal planet or d-max try catching an episode of mountain monsters.

It's basically 4 hillbillies running about in the woods of America "tracking" various urban myths such as hellhound, Cherokee death cat, hogzilla and of course Bigfoot.

They all have guns and how anyone hasn't been shot is a mystery.

Also, the have 2 characters that build elaborate traps to catch the "beasts" and the demonstrate what can happen if you consume too much moonshine!!

I'll be honest, I've stamped the accelerator and brake in the both an AX and ZX. I don't do it all the time though.

I exclusively drive in DMs (shoes not boots) too, so I'm not doing myself any favours....

Does the e in your whiskey mean that you're not drinking anything from Scotland?

Pdant.

The PM being criticised over her robotic "strong and stable" remarks.

She reminds me of one of those action man that talks when you pull the cord.

She really does'nt likebeing scrutinised does she?

You want offset/oddly spaced pedal fun? Try an old Alfasud! Now there's awkward. (Reason? RHD cars used the LHD pedal box apparantly!).

When I had a Midget that has pointlessly cramped pedals, as there is room to lay them out properly by building a wider pedal box. It'd have cost nothing at the design stage. Anyway, when I had a Midget I couldn't drive it in my favourite German para boots as I could push all three pedals at once with my foot upright on the brake.

The '58 festering that the ex-mrs hooli had when I met her made me limp after 25mins because all the pedals were under the heater controls. it was a shit car to drive too.

I've never had a problem with AXs (I drove my old 1.5D down to Somerset a few years back with no ill effects).  Ditto with the Innocenti, although its pedals are offset the other way 'cos LHD.  I do find 'Suds get uncomfortable on a long run though.

Agree re AXs and motorways - nobody seems to take them seriously but even my old 954cc 4-speed Début would cruise at 80 and the 1.5D was hammering along at an indicated 96 in the outside lane of the M4 for quite some time without breaking a sweat.

Not at all!

My 206 had offset pedals and the pain in my left knee as a result was awful, i even still get pains there when driving even now, whatever all the driving of that and twisting my leg for the clutch has done to it.

The Berlingo seems to have been sold via the medium of a sign in it's window.

Due to be collected tomorrow morning, so I better get the ax fired up until it's replacement arrives.

Browsing the comments, I found this chap saying they are shit.

In the comments a chap called Lee Crowston kindly explains that its the cooling pipes you need to be wary of but he's rudely told to do one by the OP as his mate had one etc...

A quick look at Lee Crowstons profile made me chuckle.
