Remember me moaning about my colleague and his CRV? Well he's borrowed money from his missus and is buying an entire exhaust system from euro car parts! I'm off to help him fit it on saturday (close enough to ECP to jump into the xantia if we find a wrong part and go hit them over the head with it as and when). I'm expecting it to be not bad, any hints and tips with CRV exhausts?

The air jet for the Renault's carb appears to be correct and appears to fit, woohoo!

Someone in the Netherlands has found the correct radiator for the Renault IN STOCK for not-a-lot, DOUBLE-WOOHOO!

My neighbours Series 3 Land Rover that I replaced the footwells in has just been for MOT and came away with a pass and no advisories.

The tester was very complimentary about it as well.

Fairly sure it's Nick Cave if that's what you were looking for.  It just made me laugh the kid doesn't know who he is but thought he should get a pic anyway.

EDIT - looks as if the whole thing's a joke anyhow.

Heading back home from the local Tesco Express, I stop at the pedestrian crossing. A heavily dubbered Passat rolls up behind me, with the RIPSPEED 44000 TERAWATT SUPER MEGA DESTROYER sound system in full effect. Every time the bass drum hit his headlamps dimmed!

I drove off, wondering how much further he'd have to turn it up for the engine to cut out...

My p38 Range Rover has magically fixed itself.

It's an lpg'd v8, it would start, get warm, switch to lpg and I'd manage 4 miles on lpg and then it would make an annoying beep and switch to petrol and suck my wallet and no amount of dicking about would get it to go back to lpg

I thought yesterday was a fluke but For two whole days, it's has switched on to lpg and run perfectly

When was the last time the lpg was serviced? Have you checked the filters on the lpg system?

Yes,done the filters. Thought it might have been a bad tank of gas, too much stenching agent

Could the pressures be a bit out? Assuming it's sequential injection is it thinking it's run out of gas or the shut off solenoids might be acting up - you could always run a direct feed to each shut off solenoid and loosen a connection at the front end to make sure that ones working

Grin: saw a dark grey R19 Chamade that looked familiar, I am pretty sure it was one of mine from a good few years ago :)

At 23.. 1987..... could be a Mk2 Granny, a Mk2 Escort, an Austin 1100 or a very old Saab 99.

This morning at work the lass in the office turned up in a right huff - "I nearly ran some bloke over on the way in, he just walked into the road in front of me out of some road works - I barely saw him, the fucking idiot didn't have his hi vis turned on, it's really shaken me up"

"What do you mean, didn't have his hi vis turned on?" - We explained that they aren't battery powered, they work on reflection.

Eventually we get to the bottom of it, this morning she drove her boyfriends fiesta to work that's a year older than hers so doesn't have automatic headlights.

She's done 3 miles down unlit NSL backroads before she got to the bit where she nearly ran some poor bloke over. Jesus wept.

That's brilliant! Bet she's allowed to vote too.

It sounds like an urban legend, I'd like to think she'd made the story up to troll us all but her past motoring history would suggest not.

I remember watching that about 5 years ago!

Didn't somebody on here's other half bash his car recently because it didn't have automatic lights and it didn't occur to her to turn them on manually?

Couldn't get my phone out quick enough earlier but was beaten to a most excellent spot by Mrs Shrimp "what's this big boxy thing coming up the road?"

Bugger me it's only an early 80's Cadillac! Sounded nice was utterly filthy and looked well used.

Love Ry Cooder - including (bit not limited to) "Pull Up Some Dust" - which everyone I try to inflict it on hates.  Very Very underrated IMHO.

Southern Comfort filum has Ry Cooder doing the opening theme, if I remember correctly.

Scouts thing this weekend, gravity racing a little wooden car of your own manufacture (minus the wheels, which have to be used). Not too bad for about 3 hours with a block of pine, hacksaw, knife and some spray paint.

Think this one turned out ok. Isn't going to win but it should look good trying :)

Anyone know which film Ry Cooder did the music for - an eighties one with Rosanna Arquette in it, something revolving around the murder of a bar owner's wife.

Bit vague I know, sorry :(
