whilst pulling the new mx5 apart to fit the roll bar, I discovered hidden treasure

the car was imported in 2006 so this can of deodorant has been rattling around for at least a decade

maybe it's air freshener ? yes, dogshit smells, fish smell, babies smell, what is going on with the girl on a swing ? who knows, must be a Japanese thing.

When I brought the Mercury over from the US I found a really old can of easy start under the front seat. It was really old and must have been in there years. It's still got loads left in it too.

Someone else I was talking to told me about another yank he imported and found a pistol under the seat!

They played at Hull University when I was there in the 80s. Part of the rider was to have an offstage area where Buster could set up his Scalextric. He had a break in the middle of the gig and while the band played on he had a couple of races.

He also had a fairly disasterous go at running his own hotel for a while.

Bad manners are playing at a venue near me on Oct 20th,only an hours drive.

The work project that has been supposed to start next Monday for the last four or five Mondays has now been pushed out to September. This means I won't get paid of course, but it's still a huge grin because I'll now have time to do loads of other things including fixing broken cars. Ace :-D

Well done! You and Bucketeer can hitchhike together back to UK Shitefest 2017!

I haven't got a passport, so give us plenty of warning before organizing international SF17 please!

0.25% interest rates - Glad I didn't remortgage and fix it a few months ago when I was planning

For once my tardiness may have actually paid off..slightly

I have just been out for a walk, not only with THREE dogs, but a woman of the female variety! School teacher I have had the hots for (secretly) for about a year. She is nice, pretty, thin, likes dogs.... what's not to like?

She don't like cars!

Sob... sob!

Oh yes, it was all going so well until my crippled side decided to show itself with force and I fell over, not really the impression you want to give that of 'stunt cripple' to the unwary. I'd just got her seriously pricked as well... getting Phoebe's ball back out of a bush, nothing more interesting! :)

People who don't like cars, and especially people who don't understand cars, can be great.  As long as it will get you both from A to B as required, you can generally tell them anything and they'll believe it.

"Oh it's meant to sound like that"

"It's very rare they don't make them anymore"

"All convertibles leak"

" Yes you often get bits falling off"

I got a message from Cros the other day (where the Triumph came from) saying he had found the spare keys and could he have my address.

Keys arrived so a spare set in the drawer.

What a top man sending them on, Cheers.

Ok. So, one Autoshiter is already in Bulgaria, and now others are following? Are we trying to take over an entire country now?

Can we get Eddy's Cadillac or Dan's Mercury and recreate some of the videos from "World's Wildest Police Chases" (WARNING: This may involve lots of ramming, battering and shouting obscenities in a very strong Southern accent).

When you say southern accent, do you mean Cornwall?

That depends on whether Ken can do a decent impression of that guy from the Kelly's ice cream advert.

EDIT: Has you got any pictures Ken? I love 90s Yank motors.

I think BTB was kind of setting up to do this himself when he bought the AS Oldsmanmobile.  My car is now too far away from Ken's to take part, but Dan may be within reach.  I can't see him being all Hooper in it though!

Brodders: just for the man who likes 90s Yanks...

Spotting the famous Autoshite Sierra in Classic Car Weekly this week!

Posted

Had the godsprogs visiting at the weekend, aged 11 and 13. Treated them to a spin in the Visa - they were very excited to be in such an "old" car.

First, godsprog2 taps the ever-so-slightly padded vinyl slab of fascia in front of the passenger and asks, "is that where the airbag is?"

Second, both are immensely excited to be in the back of a car sans seatbelts (admittedly we didn't go far). That act of brazen rebellion and daring was the highlight for them,

My explanation of a manual choke was lost on them though...
