Bought Doom for the Xbox One a few days ago and it's utterly epic. Just so much fun to be running around at full speed slaughtering everything in brutal fashion without such complications as a plot or character development. To use the technical terms, it's metal as fuck.

Got the original version that Kyle (my son) and I used to play ALL the time. God it was fantastic fun.

I don't know anything about it other than it says: T10 on the top. Hold on, I'll dig out the box..... Right, it says: TT TV BOX. Then further down it says: RoHS FC.

It's an Android thing. Sorry if that's no use....

They are all much of a muchness really, just make sure you get the latest version with a decent sized processor and memory.

The new one is basically the game they would have made in 1993 had the technology been available

At work we deal with a pallet network daily......the woman who does the booking flirts with the transport manager as required to get what she wants.

Today he had to cover for one of the drivers who was off sick........so he happens to pop in to 'say hello'

His face dropped when he realised the one he deals with looks like a bulldog chewing a wasp.......

This didn't just make me smile, it made me snort with derision. I almost bought Autoespress ,but thought better of it and took a picture.

Apparently this makes me an embarrassing pikey- double win!

AS key-swapping session at the end of last night's Shotley meet was good fun (although a shame Triger's Astra is being temperamental, with fuelling issues much like those I've been suffering on the 1200). Got to drive Rover 825, Audi 90, Mazda 121 and the Astra.

I didn't get the Audio manual or stereo code with the Focus, so I thought I'd pull out the unit and get the serial number off it, and then hit up a dealer for the code.

Previous owner=legend. Code on a Post It stuck to the head unit.

I love this, I had a Renault that had no code and had to give the dealers a call, the local dealer wanted loads of information which I didn't have but the supplying dealer in Inverness asked the registration and 30 seconds later rattled the code off!

Why do they still bother coding radios? Who is going to bother stealing one these days?

Posted

Saabs don't have codes you have to use tech 2 to divorce and remarry radios if you swap them !

If you don't divorce a radio before you remove it it's useless without hacking

I can't think of any new cars that have a head unit that would fit another car - and in some cases, they appear to be part of the dashboard. Chances of them getting nicked is minimal, so codes are useless.

At least our 2008 VW has a gap that can be turned into a double DIN slot with a plate, I looked at a few newer cars where you can't even see that it's a removable part. My 2014 Astra stereo display also controls the heater, various options for the car such as light delay, unlock all/one settings, chimes and whatever so it can't be binned. Focus was the same, climate control won't work without the factory fit head unit.

Which would be good, if they made decent stereos to start with but they don't. Neither the Astra nor the Focus would stream music from phones - just make calls - and the Focus and VW don't have Aux input at all so you have to use these weird shiny disc things.

Yesterday was my birthday so the xantia was brimmed on tesco finest diesel and i took the van away. I have done 198 mile in total and it took19 quid to fill up again. Just over 51 mpg. How can something so big and towing a van be so economical?

The Focus should have Aux-in, although probably not where you would expect to find it. Is it one of those horrible ones that look as if they came from a 1980s toybox?

It was a Blaupunkt satnav thing, the factory fit one. No aux, no USB, CD changer instead

The Revenant is brilliant.

The Martian is brilliant.

Ted 2 is okay.

Daddys home is utter shite.

My application for film critic still goes unanswered by the powers that be.

Just won my villages scarecrow competition with my scrap metal alien

I feel guilty that I left the fete at 4:30 and the presentation was at 5, just had a knock on the door and got a trophy/certificate/box of liquorice all sorts.

Next year's scarecrow will be 99% betterer though, I'll start making it earlier next year rather than leaving it until the last day

That explains the lack of follow-up pish on facebook from my cousin and my mate... :-D :-D :-D
