What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

It is indeed fixed. But, the radio is still dodgy...

So, I will have a brand new old stock unit from an Alpine collector in the states (I honestly didn't know people collected car stereos, but apparently, they do.... a lot!)....

So, when it arrives, I will probably wrap it up in cotton wool and store it somewhere very safe for the inevitable moment when the old one shuffles off this mortal coil and plays the last retreat, fading away into nothingness as the final chords play....

:) :)

Not wishing to piss on your parade, but I do hope you like only BBC Radio. When the day comes, you'll discover Yankee PLL radios tuners usually tune in 200Khz odd-steps on FM (e.g. 88.1, 88.3, 88.5 and so on up to 107.9). I also think the MW goes up in 10KHz steps and not 9KHz...

A friend of mine lives / works at beamish as a stockman . He was a world champion horse ploughman too ! He gave me an after hours tour round the place and I've been as a normo too . Brilliant day out

I'm taking Kinky Girl to Beamish for said event on Saturday.

er, plz reassure me they don't crank the price 'cos there's an event on? Or Kinky may be unhappy, and that would be a bad thing.

Looks like we could have an autoshite meet at Beamish - I'm also less than a couple of miles away, and might just pop down on saturday with the youngun and maybe Mrs S.

Not sure about FM but the MW bit is defo correct.

That is correct about FM radios as well.   97.1 Country Legends is best if you're in Houston.

Lovely work girl texted me this afternoon and asked what I was up to. I said that I had just hit a bloke driving an orange car and that he was actually chasing after me. She told me to stop if I'd hit someone.

I said that he had a weapon of some kind. She said to call the police. I then replied that I was going to deal with it and I had just ran him off the road.

Silence. She then phoned wanting to know if I was ok.

I said not to worry as I was playing GTA. I couldn't speak properly as I was pissing myself laughing.

She called me a dick via text. I then said that at least I hadn't texted her about the group of pedestrians I had just taken out.

She then called me a doughnut and was about to call the police when she realised she had no clue as to my whereabouts. She was laughing too by then. I had to promise not to do that again as she was worried about me.

Bless her :)

Not bothered about the radio so long as it powers up and looks like it works, never listen to it as I cannot stand all the adds on local and the djs on national annoy me. I don't like being annoyed as it .... annoys me :)

No problem, the fact that it didn't work properly even if I didn't listen to it would annoy me.

The dodgy caliper on the Silvia seems to have unseized itself.

What's the secret shitter signal? Walk round carrying a 7/16ths spanner?

Yes, there is that. But, beggars and choosers.... :)

Just read a car ad and found this gem 'tyres good, all round', well of course they are, wouldn't be much good if they were square! Made me smile.

Cloggies had a referendum. This poor man was on TV talking about it.

Mother Ghosty went to her first therapy/whatever session for her OCD (been trying to get her to for years) the other day.

She's a changed woman, and life is so, SO much easier.

She let me sit in the driver's seat of the Bini  I'm bugging her to insure me on it now.

Just had a nuisance call from a woman says she from Black Pearl something. I asked her if she knew Captain Jack Sparrow but she said she wasn't playing that game and put the phone down :-)

Wouldn't that be a 10mm spanner to hammer over a rounded 7/16 fastener?

Chatted up on the way home from work- waiting at lights on the bike and a woman whom I had passed half a mile earlier pulled alongside for a chat. I must wear the Lycra tights more often!

Just had the phone call I was 'sort of' dreading. John the painter who I was expecting to tell me of all the problems with the car, how the paint didn't match, how the dent wouldn't come out, etc.

Instead I got 'it's all done just got to wait for the cleaner to come in and give her a good clean and polish. Oh, and I thought you didn't look very happy the last time you came (I wasn't: he said he was leaving some bits -chips in the passengers doors - as the car would end up like a patchwork quilt) so I did everything instead of doing it to the money. Did every little chip and blemish I could find and to save any colour problems, sprayed it completely both sides! Also got an extra litre of colour in case, so if it gets dented again, we have the paint!'

Okay, I haven't seen it yet, but that sounds good to me! I asked him about me taking the Mazda down and swapping them over so I could take the dollop and he could paint the bonnet on the Mazda (duller than the rest of the car, only bit that's original paint I think!) and he can't fit it in for months, maybe two!

It sounds great, I hope it is but I feel in my bones that she looks good. :)

I wish.

Sadly not in this lifetime, or even possibly the next.
