That'll get some excersise into the rear beam! My Xsara rides the best with a shit ton of stuff in the boot/rear passengers, when I'm on my own it feels a bit knocky as the lack of weight fails to help the suspension keep up with whatever fucked bit* of road I'm driving on at the time.

When I helped my parents move house it rode better than my xm and xantia did

Am working  on the theory that exercise is good. If the bars are used to a good twist then they won't break under surprise stress. Maybe. Sure the bearings love it too.

Its not just vans that ride better with a little weight in. To be fair I don't tend to test the handling when the tow bar pins scraping though it definitely rides better. Always looks fucking hilarious as im sure the front springs are weighted for the 2.0 derv donkey not the little TU pez featherweight.

No it does help, half the reason it all seizes up back there is lack of use from many years of reading about them 😂

Hence people tap grease nipples into them etc

Biggest grin today for me is this.

This time last year my youngest had been out of school for well over a year and was waiting to get enrolled in a unit that could meet their needs. Today they have enrolled at college on a course they want having attained the gcse's for entry.

Proud dad.

Managed to defer some DIY duties by working* on La Sproglette's Bini all afternoon through to about 7pm. New glass, door lock, door handle - total fuckpig, bollocksy, fiddley crap.
Just to check that the new glass did not implode under harsh acceleration or cornering - took it for a test drive to the local purveyor of alcoholic beverages  ( safety of the next generation is paramount so that somebody pays for my Old Age Pension).
Boy - that wee car can really shift. 30mph through to 60mph in third would blow the combover off Bobbie Charlton.
Paperwork included a receipt for a remap but I wonder if they stuffed a bigger turbo in too?
Then I saw a metallic green, R reg'd Micra K11 going the other way.
Life is good

Some of my best spiritual experiences have been 18 hours or so into a day of nothing but coffee and cigarettes.

The secret is that all that matters is the present moment, and even then another moment will be round in a moment so don't worry too much about any moment except the present moment for the moment.

The hallucinations get pretty good around the 30 hours awake mark. I don't recommend it though.

I'll just dye my hair red and go ook. This should be enough to fool them into thinking I'm an orangutan.

its the impact gun @RoverFolkUs uses for customer car wheels where the wheel nuts have previously been done up to Millionty footpounds by someone at a quick-fit or such,  you put the socket over the whole wheel and tyre, and it just sheers entire wheel/all the nuts off the hub for you in one swift ugga-dugga

Am in Japan. Saw this Mini, and I’m sharing the dragons head thing because it matches my expression exactly at seeing British chod so far from home. Off to spot more stuff tomorrow if anyone is interested?

Don't know if it's still a thing @motorpunk, but there was an absolutely massive following for classic (read proper) minis in Japan.

We even considered shipping my mum's '65 woody out when she decided to sell

A few people told me that but I’ve been here a couple of days and only seen 2. LOADS of AMG G-Waggon wankermobiles, for some weird reason. Anyway, I’ve been stood avoiding this typhoon thing as I forgot my brolly so have a picture of a shite taxi. No idea of make or model but it’s a pleasantly dated shape, this three box design. Ps - 4am and can’t sleep
