What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

My younger brother bought this wee beastie today. It’s a Hyundai Veloster Sport. It’s a grin because this is the first car he’s ever bought. It’s been slightly breathed on and has a strut brace so feels pretty swift. It also has a pretty kick ass private plate with it - really happy for him (and also kinda jealous!)

Especially if you drive it on holiday to a country that drives on the opposite side of the road.....

An 05-plate Renault Trafic van has just had its engine run away quite spectacularly outside the office.  The amount of smoke a dying 1.9 dCi can produce is really impressive.

I see no issues.

What do you mean "no issue"???

The tape measurer is on the sidewalk, and not rolled back onto itself. That's not right.

Back from an excellent fortnight in France. Lots of quality car stuff photographed, usual thread to be updated in due course. This LP purchased at a boot sale for a Euro, just for the photo:

I don't know why they're standing in a scrapyard, but I'm glad they are. I think it's a 1969 release, some of those cars look like they've led a hard life but I'm guessing it was taken in Paris?

Family joined me in the shed for a listen to it this evening, but fairly soon drifted away. Very French, but nowhere near enough accordion in my opinion.

My current favourite programme on te telly is: 'Last of the summer wine' tonights episode spent a lot of time in a scrapyard, loads of our sort of cars - Sierras, Mk1 Fiestas, Caveliers, and it was the good sort of scrappy where you could actually go in and pinch stuff yourself!

It turns out that my Grandmother has been hiding a MK2 Granada in her garage for years!

I am usually the only patient in my dentist's waiting room who does not have a face tattoo or probation officer, but one customer (or employee?) today had a particularly nice car.

Over the last three weeks this poor car has been subjected to carrying shedloads of stuff for our house move is so grubby both inside and out that it looks like its neglected, has done many many miles ferrying is round to our wedding, family dos and quietly ticked over 192,000 miles last week.

So today we went for a run for our pleasure and ended up in the Peak District. I thoroughly enjoyed driving it up snake pass. We even had some AS meet up as we bumped into @Ghosty in the pub!

It truly is the most capable car I think I’ve ever owned!

Tomorrow I might even wash it!

And nice it was to bump into you sir! Our double take across the pub was classic!

The sporty looking Hyundai is ace, I was all over one on the forecourt of the then dealer in Little Bushey.

The Toledo went for some wheel alignment therapy at Formula 1 Auto Centre and the guys were ace, they loved the Toledo and oooh'd over the simplicity of the mechanicals.

Steering much more pleasant and will take it back in a few weeks to have a free check and tweak of the tracking if required, no need to book, just bring it in :)

I've modified some of our clothes pegs so they're gulf racing colours. Mrs Masters wasn't as impressed as I thought she'd be.
