Blyth asda this morning. Immaculate condition. Metro head lights. It looked jacked up. Was this the last year they were made? 1999.54e57f29776f8c32c1b6bef8eac7c0b2.jpga476eed29080c3e37fe8d7128b72bdac.jpg78d4171414d2a78173810faa90bc4051.jpg21f7eacd2b787caf648de29756b0b1b8.jpg

That's the final facelift model made from 1999 to 2002 and I beleive the headlamps are from a Corsa.

...In other news, I had a lovely day out yesterday with wife and dog in Bowness, beside the lake (Windermere). The sun shone, we got a parking space, we even had a cruise on the lake. Beautiful.

Did you encounter any hungry swans wandering into town?

I have been through mine and sadly had nothing.

Until I remembered I had two mortgages with the Halifax in the 90’s which I thought might have had PPI on them. Anyway this morning I got a form from Bank of Scotland re my complaint about the PPI on my loan and could I fill in and return the form please?

Fingers crossed. Problem is one of them was a joint one with an ex so it may mean having to make contact with her for signatures, etc. Mrs P won’t be pleased! Although if I get megabucks offered I think she could live with half of Something we weren’t expecting.

All I need to do now is prove to Ford I did buy a car from them in March 2000 with PPI on the loan. Problem is I don’t exist, and neither does the car although I now have some proof from my Bank I was paying £170 a month for three years to Ford Credit UK so let’s see them respond to that....

I know I had ppi with direct line as I remember the guy on the phone scaring me into taking it. However even after a sar request RBS said they only keep records going back six years (conveniently for them) so no refund for me :(

Anyone got any idea if there’s anything else I can do? I went to the ombudsman but they just said if there’s no records there’s nothing they can do.

Revolution wheels on a Robin!

That looks ace, really suits it :-).

Has me thinking of maybe a 'production sporty GT spec' Robin as could have been made by Reliant.

In the style of the Mini 1275GT or (original) Mini Cooper S.

Avoiding tat like wheel spats and union jack roof, etc, obviously.

Let 1 of the claims companies loose on them

They will dig a fair bit harder for the info than the bank will, let you know if they find anything and then ask if you want to proceed

Agreed. PPIReclaim.co.uk seems quite competent, and their fees modest compared to many others.

These books made me chuckle, and some of the reviews made me chuckle more...

'I is for Intercooler, fair enough but the definition is all wrong, it cools the air after it leaves the turbo, not before.

I don't want my kids growing up so badly misinformed!'.

My garage clothes were honking a bit of petrol even after washing...

So gave them a wash in vingear... now they smell as sweetly as I can do!

Bonnet up!

350 miles in two days in the 2CV, which ran perfectly apart from refusing to start at a set of roadworks. I'd turned her off as it was a very long queue. Bit embarrassing. Wonder if she's fouling the plugs up again?

Just in a really busy phase of my life, so hard to keep up with everything at the moment. My love for the beige is still strong.

There will be a video. I need to get on and edit it.

I’m so gutted I forgot about this! I’d signed up and everything. Was planning to bring the 2CV and then life took over and a busy week caused me to forget! Dammit!

Looks like a really good meet!

In my own grin news...

Last week my gf and I got engaged. Did the whole romance bit etc... we joked that after such romance we should do some car jobs to balance it out.

As I was driving home from said romance my now fiancée in the car behind rings me to inform me that the exhaust on the car is dragging on the floor....

So our first act as an engaged couple was to pull the exhaust off a Peugeot!

We had a good laugh at that!!

I'm in for three Roffles at the moment.  I still haven't got my licence back so I can't do collections; I've arranged to buy another car for daily use anyway (which I also can't collect yet); I have nowhere to put extra cars; and there's the slight issue of no income at the moment.  WTF am I doing?   Somebody stop me!

10 years of disco td5 ownership today. I got it cheap* as the clutch bearing / dual mass flywheel screams. 10 years later it still screams for the first half mile and then goes quiet. Think that's a win.

As long as it doesn’t do what my Golf’s DMF did recently and shats itself at a set of temporary lights during a named storm after being stuck in traffic for an hour after dark, you’re all good!

Just watched an absolutely brilliant episode of the Grand Tour. An hour and 20 minutes of the three of them pissing about in RVs. They really are back on form, I was laughing like a drain. :D

A number of things have made me happy today, not the least of which was a 'phone call from a proper mate out of the blue (you know who you are and it's much appreciated) and also a very tidy eBay win (not shite related) just now.

That Lancia is lovely.  I papped its big brother at Kings Lynn a few months back.
