Estimated delivery date for a new rear wiper motor has long gone.  Just asking the eBay seller if they have any more information.

Anybody had any problems with d2pautoparts10?  I'm keeping it polite!

At Le Mans for the classic. Brilliant weekend but phone kept dying in the heat. Worked long enough this morning to get one photo of the group before my visitors left for the UK. I am staying on for a couple of weeks or so with the Bentley

Drive back was fine. Bit of an exhaust rattle though.

Sadly it's a bit more rusty than I remembered. Inner arches are going a bit iffy. Fuel filler bubbling. Sills a bit sad looking.

I've been offered another 21 (a 2 litre) but it's done 213k. However it's had one owner and I think it's one of those 'no expense spared' deals. If it's less rotten I'll probably get it and sell this one for £300 or so.

The TT has gone. Any VAG apologists out there can kiss my hairy arse, that car had less miles and much more history than my Vectra, yet was exactly 59.6 times more trouble. Even the Puma is less problematic and more fun to drive.

Next up, do I want to spend over five hundred bloody quid getting the ST through an MOT, or just lob into the GoG?

In extremely boring news, I had the crown estate electricians round this morning after the heat detector in the kitchen woke me at 4am earlier in the week. In talking he mentioned that one of the new neighbours in the old Gardeners place was Eddie Jones. Of England rugby fame. No idea why he’s renting here, but i expect he’s not paying. Maybe I’ll meet him at drinkies at the big house at Christmas.

William Harvey?  They've been outstanding with my partner's Mum lately.  Really outstanding.  Congratulations.

Thought this was going to be about a 70s luxury Toyota wagon.

Disappoint.

It’s an ST220, chief. 3.0 pez to be exact. I reckon if I put the 170 in for an MOT it’d set a new world record for failures.

Don't think I'll sleep tonight. Two-car collection caper tomorrow, that'll see me drive the Subaru to Peterborough, then a train to Bolloxshire to collect something rather more refined, before driving to Birmingham where I shall leave the Bolloxwagon and jump on a train to Hinckley, there to collect an old flame to also drive to Birmingham. The Bolloxwagon will then ferry me home, and the second purchase will have to wait a bit. FUN TIMES. As long as everything goes to plan...

Oh VAG.

Manually triggering it up and down cleared it. At least it's not an MOT failure. I bet it'll try something on though when it's in for it's MOT Thursday.

I was walking between offices for a meeting today (it's nearly 1/4mile down the road) when I got to laugh at some old asian giffer who pulled out a junction & his front wheel fell off his smoll pugrot estate. The reason for laughing is only one wheel bolt fell out.....

Good maintenance then. Oh & stopped (no choice really) along side a keep left bollard for maximum entertainment as the mongs driving towards a stationary car with hazards on still drove up the island & had to reverse to get round.

Just jumped in then Lada to move it as it's going to have to go I think. Of course, the bloody thing won't tick over and the brake pedal is softer than a pair of 40EE funbags....... bollox!

Bleeder out and carb to be stripped.... that'll look good if anyone comes to view it!

Panic mechanic mode on.........

House buying is the most stressful occupation ever ! Time the government got a grip on the whole process - not that they ever will of course, the legal profession makes far too much money from property conveyancing, and the government a fortune from stamp duty. Hope it all goes well for you Kiltox.

You’re not wrong.

What I thought was a fairly straightforward “hello mr developer, instead of giving you £245k I want to give you £295k” is turning into a right saga

Having successfully used it indoors as a room/boiler cupboard deodoriser, I put my recently-acquired ozone generator to work inside The Volvo and The Aero today, which despite always being kept clean, smelt a bit 'old', especially The Volvo.

After running the generator in each car for an hour and leaving them both to stand with all of their windows open for several hours afterwards (very important!), they smell nice and fresh inside.

Hopefully, as well as general funkiness, the ozone will have got rid of any bugs and bogles in the heating/ventilation systems :)

In keeping with a car at the bottom of its value curve (plus my increasingly empty pockets) I bought a pair of part worn Goodyears for the Merc last night, as the fronts are illegal and I need to change them ASAP.  25 quid each with 6mm of tread seemed a good deal, and my friendly tyre place will fit them for £10 a corner.  I'm wondering whether to get some new mid-range tyres for the rear, such as GT Radial Campiros for £70 each fitted.  Alternatively I'll wait until MoT time to see what else needs doing, as the rears aren't at death ring status yet.

The DB has been playing up.

Firstly, it runs fine then stops for no obvious reason. New fuel filters didn't help, so I took the tank off a sluiced it out with fresh diesel about half a dozen times. Quite a lot of crap came out.

Second problem was the starter. It just clicked on turn of the key and needed the termimals shorted to start. Then latterly, even shorting the starter only resulted in the motor spinning but not engaging.

I got a new solenoid for £24 and put that on. Also took the starter apart and checked the brushes . All good so a wee clean up and reassemble.

There's no doubt a better way to keep the brushes out the way.

Tractor now starts on the key, just have to see if it keeps going without conking out followed by a 10 minute bleeding session every half hour.

I've fancied one of these for a while, my van smells a bit off and one of the wardrobes in my house has an unshiftable fustyness.

Which one did you buy?

I was looking at something called Clobberizer to de-dog the new 850 but that might be a better option. Will you let us know if the treatment lasts?
