Auxiliary lights have long been common to retrofit on cars here in Scandinavia, so it's possible Saab thought of that with that switch.

That is very cool but I prefer this button in Audis from the early 2000s

They were just a factory available option for dealers to hook anything up to.  In my case I had it set up as an override for the cooling fan thermoswitch as it got warmer than I liked before it would turn the fan on itself.

45 years ago I was working for a firm that were selling grey import Unimat lathes via mail order. The official importer would only wholesale the Unimat 3 to suppliers who would agree to take the bigger machines in the range, which were much more expensive, and therefore slow sellers. The small lathes would fly off the shelves. The firm used to phone around Europe buying up surplus stock of Unimat 3s, and import them to retail.

Short for 'extraljus' or foglights, in case you wired some in later on.

(Sorry if this is the wrong section for this).

Can anyone identify what these seats were originally from?

They are being removed from a Series Land Rover which was abandoned in 2001, so they are older that then.

They are scrap, just wondering what they were from.

I would be interested in these for my fiesta, do you have better pics of both? Would even give you money if there both in same cond as this one.

I will get some pictures of both seats, however it may be a few weeks.

I have to have the Land Rover away from where it is by the end of September (No possibility of a time extension).

and, for reasons, it is having to be dismantled in situ, for removal in lumps.

So my focus is in getting the Land Rover apart and away.

Please don't get your expectations of these seats up, IMO they are scrap.

They had been fitted (badly) into a Series Land Rover, sometime before it was abandoned in 2001.

The driver's door and the passenger's door top had rotted off, so the seats were exposed to the elements from about 2015, till the Land Rover came into my ownership last year.

The one pictured above (Passenger's side in the Fiesta) is in better condition than the other one.

Both are filthy, stained, badly faded, there is a fag burn type hole in the base of the one pictured above.

Neither seat back tilt seems to be doing anything.

No bother, Ive good frames so if material is in 1 piece it may wash.

Message me when your ready if you manage.

Cheers Alistair 👍.

Had this thing a month now and I've done 1500 or so miles, averaging 60mpg.

However...

It's actually a really massive pain in the arse to park it around here. I've spent ages, genuinely ages, trying to find spaces big enough in the dead of the night and it's getting really annoying. It's not a huge car but it is a big car for one person.  One person getting really frustrated not being able to park it!

Really tempted to get rid of it and get a Panda or citybug literally for that reason alone. Sigh!

Last time I was in Brussels, Fatha_Sterling used to live right near this dark blue Jag, I'd had my Vectra with me, now I'm back with my Jag, I thought, why not?

Despite looking the same, the dark blue Jag is actually an X300 straight-six. It does have an X308 grille and front headlamps by the looks of it.

It's on a 'classic' numberplate indicated by the "0" at the start of the plate which is for classic cars.

Unfortunately, I didn't meet the owner.

In other news, the electric aerial on the Jag managed to break. I've got a new one coming over at some point though.

That made me laugh and cheered up what turned out to be a not so great day. 🏁 Also reminded me of my dads Rover 2000, his hubcaps were almost permanently covered in a thick layer of road dirt and a dog would regularly pee on his hubcaps and it really pissed him off!

Spent Sunday swapping the contents of the missus Golf into the S204 Mercedes, cleaning a bit of the interior and sorting a few bits out ready for Nanny duties on Monday. her ladyship sorted the insurance and SORN for the Golf then hit a stumbling block with the tax as the new keeper supplement was coming up invalid and the V5 has not arrived. I thought it was due to having SORN the Mercedes when we bought it, apparently as the V5 had been created on Aug 22nd the supplement number becomes invalid so none of the online taxing will work. I dropped a disappointed other half off this morning for nanny duties (Carless Fandango!) in my car and she managed to get a call back from DVLA to tax the car.....:oOf course I had to drive from work in Ottershaw to Staines in my car, collect her car then pick her up from Aldershot! In the pissing rain! how many f*uckwits had an accident tonight on the way there AND back. 😬

Yeah, if they were both like 1st photo probably worth saving but your correct, the 2nd one looks beyond it. Very rare seats and with head rest option.
