Another camper at shitefest panhard? Great looking little trailer too

Posted

Those crazy Danish! If you need spares at shitefest the importer is only in Thame (or he used to be).

So I had to manually move 3 metric tonne's of gravel by hand up the drive.

That must have taken a fair few trips.

Rover sold now, within 1 day of going on sale.

I should be happy that I managed to sell it so quickly and so close to the asking price, but I don't feel that overjoyed, I really liked that car a lot. Oh well.

The buyer seemed like a genuinely nice guy and it should be a decent runaround, so I don't have any worries about that. Any shitters in Ipswich who may see it around give me a shout (or get a picture if you are quick enough), it would be nice to see it still going strong. In a slightly odd coincidence, the buyer works on the same road as the original dealer, so it still hasn't gone far from it's source in all this time.

Anyway, apologies for the long post and poor quality of the picture, it was getting dark and I cocked up on the focus of the camera as it was driving away.

I'm absolutely not looking to buy another car.

I'm totally asking for a friend.

Anyway. When you see a fail sheet like this... what's happened ? Half a job to scrape it through an MOT?? It's moved from fail to advisory.

Most likely as you describe however if the failure sheet is not present I'd also wonder if it's gone to a more friendly tester

What were the advisories on the fail ? Prescribed areas can be a 12" circle so may have several rusty areas in it . One was repaired , one wasn't

I scrolled down and thought this was cavcrafts latest adventure !!!

I fervently hope that Cavcraft didn't pay £600 for his example.

Possibly more relevant to the eBay thread, but this popped up about 7-8 miles from me - If it's complete, is it worth the £500 he's asking?

That's the understatement of the year; it looks like a massive, Alfa Romeo shaped mirror. Nice job.

I'd rock one of those, what are they like to drive?

Better than I expected, as long as you don't try to take speed bumps too quick.

I might actually do a thread for it.

I was kindly offered a free tow bar set up for the Maestro, so I went to collect it today.

This is what the m25 did to it:

post-17396-0-65037000-1465077662_thumb.jpg

At journey's end (did I mention I went from Halifax to Portsmouth 255 miles) the fan was tested and found to be a bit stiff so was cooling on air flow only.  The fuse had blown for the fan too.

Refilled 3 litres of water and was golden until I got home and it overheated again just as I parked up.

To add insult to injury the center console had got warm and melted my wispa.

Apart from that, and spilling coffee in the passenger footwell it was a trouble free trip of 510 miles!

Thanks to 109landys3 for the towbar and bits and diagnosis, nice to meet you.

Day. Fucking. Ruined.

If it wasn't for that it would have been a perfect shite day out!

Also my brother called me to look at his non starting zafira.jumpstarted it..checked charging at 14.5volts, looked in lil window and was black, took tops off and few cells dead.. turned off wouldnt restart so meter said 10.2v so sadly for him he had to spend 60 notes on a new battery..so he treated the turd to wash n brushup..

Me & Supernaut went down to Dundee for a big car meet with a few friends, which as expected turned out to be a bunch of 'Yoof' & Barrys (The meet, not our mates...). Was a few cars of interest such as a  MG ZT260, Ratty looking '69 Mercury Cougar with a organismic sound, A Ford Fairlane 500, One of the crazy import spec Suzuki Wagon RR's as well as a T-reg Mondeo saloon! (Which was't part of the event, just parked up)

But the trip was an excuse to test the Lexus in it's "Cross-Continent' spec. CB radio & Cool box plugged in, boot full of crap as well as a full 20Ltr Jerry can, etc. As expected handled it like it was nothing...

MlANQlz.jpg

If you look carefully, you can just see the CB radio antennas on the cars. Supernaut went for the crazy 1.5 meter sized one...

So it's safe to say, the Lexus will just eat up the miles to Shitefest as if it were nothing. :)
