Standing on Ashgrove road waiting for the shuttle bus back to Old Aberdeen earlier, and what do I see drive past making a fucking racket?THE £8CAR! Driven by its slightly pissed-off looking new owner. :D

I'll keep a look out. Am in the land of Scots and Volvo estates and SVM at the moment. First time I've ever been to Scotchland. Since this morning I've been to Blairgowrie, then a bus tae Dundee and now on mah way tae Aberdeen for a pick up tae Glaasgae.

Aye.

My Fusion is leaking coolant now (in sympathy with my Mondeo - which is at the garage again having the hose looked at).

Numpty question - what is this connection to the expansion tank (marked with an arrow) - and why is it spraying coolant over the underside of the bonnet (New expansion tank cap on its way BTW).

That would be my assumption. If the front wheels still have traction, then use it to pull yourself away from the skid. Dab of oppo, obviously, then a Troy Queef write up on Pistonheads.

Obvs doing it wrong then. I'll hand in my driving gloves and unsubscribe from Pistonheads...

Oh wait.

Advice duly noted. My solution to this is to buy better tyres.

Front wheel drive is unnatural. I am trying gradually to eliminate it from my life.

My only news is I got a big outstanding invoice paid yesterday and I'm being REALLY REALLY GOOD and haven't bought that beige Gamma Coupe that's still for sale and it's EATING ME UP INSIDE.

I love the discord between those two statements. ;)

I did say gradually. No sense rushing things.

The Gamma Coupe is the only front wheel drive car I've driven that would oversteer nicely and progressively.

Plus, Gamma Coupes are mostly just for drooling at. (Which is fortunate given their, er, reputed delicacy and my fixing skills.)

I'm usually a staunch FWD addict, given the whole Citroen thing. Yet I currently find myself with FWD, RWD and 4WD on the fleet. Hmmm. Variety.

Need a new van

How shit are Renault Trafic/Vauxhall Vivaro/Nissan whatevers ?

(<2008, <£2000)

They are ok, nice to drive and easy 35mpg no matter how hard you drive, turbo's, clutches, gearboxes and seized injectors in the head are common faults, I've done over 400k in them over the last 7 years, they are very comfy and I only began to get uncomfortable after a 6 hour stint, the renault ones are usually better specced and have AC.

When are you due into Aberdeen?

Soz my Scottish shite bothers. I really wanted to meet up with some Scottish based shiters but as always with work, time is tight and times between drop-offs and collectons need to be planned tightly.

Got to Aberdeen about 3pm. Made my way to pick up a Transit van, met up with another driver and now I'm in Callander for the night. Scotland has some seriously fine places. So far in one day I've been to Blairgowrie, Dundee, Aberdeen, now in Callander and tomorrow - Glaasgae and Carlisle.

Next time I come up it'll be on more relaxed terms, I know some of the Midlandz Massiv are planning an attack a visit up to meet our Scottish brothers in shiteness.

Blairgowrie is on me and Drum's doorstep. I work in Coupar Angus which is couple of mile down road towards Dundee from Blair. :-)

Dipped beam in the Clio ii on one side is as utter bastard. Remember distinctly trying to replace one in the uni car park on (my now) wife car at the time.

Her: Why don't you concede defeat and phone the AA?

To think I actually still married her after saying such a thing!

I'm trying to work out a thing.  Have I figured out all the Renaults-with-numbers here, or are there some I've missed?

Bentley has been collected to be taken to a place of execution...  or repair... maybe. Having failed to start yesterday in a tragic fashion, today, it is of course, totally fine. I hope they find whatever the fuck it is that's causing this as it's getting on ones tits! :(

Mr 83C has asked me to go look at a Rover 75 with him this AM.

Trouble is, I know nothing about them. (except OMGHGF)

I don't think I imagined it, but did someone on here visit a Citroen hoarder/scrapyard near Gatwick a few years ago?

I'm just actively thinking of good places to go for fancy bits for the ZX but I also have a feeling that the above was run by a person with no sense of values?

I'm also thinking (pure blue sky) of going to France later this year to see if I can get any parts, but am I likely to be disadvantaged by 1) not being French and being charged the earth and 2) picking the wrong yards to visit?
