cars that did or didn't morph very well

SM's on the other hand are so lovely I'd like to take one to bed and spank it soundly.

Back in the dark ages, I had one. Again, contrary to popular folklore, it was one of the sturdiest and hard wearing cars I ever owned. A tough beast surviving unimaginable abuse.

The only negative memory I have about it is that the crumbs from my sandwiches accumulated in the cassette shaft.

This:

didn't morph too well from some angles to this:

The side view is passable, but the rear view is almost as unattractive as a MK1 Focus saloon.

I think the Focus saloon looks better than the hatch.

I always liked the DS. There, I said it. The engines I always thought were the big let down on them but the rest, yumm! That's why I had a few CXs 'cos I could never afford a DS.

An SM is a car I would happily kill my Mother for (if she wasn't already dead).

In fact there are rather a lot of Citroens that I really like - 2CV (had a few, all utter sheds) Ami, GS, DS, CX, SM...

What is the rest of the worlds fascination with lobbing a boot on a perfectly normal and otherwise good car?

ZX Saloon

BX Saloon - oh wait, you could have a 405....

Just to prove how subjective it is, I think they both look great, with the XM Partridge posted being a full on trouser tent situation.
