sutty2006 Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Scrote. Notice the rusty roof. Yet near perfect sills and arches probably a base spec CL 1.6 16 valver

RoverFolkUs Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 Very nice to see a MK1 Punto out and about in the wild, especially in that green colour. Can't think of the last time I saw one. Thought about stopping for a chat but I inferred it was just an insignificant daily driven vehicle rather than an enthusiast! uk_senator, Remspoor, The Vicar and 2 others 5

Looking at the MOT history it had only just passed a test on the day I spotted it after a period of being expired. Only around 30k on the clock. Might have made someone's day if it got noticed on the first day of being used on the road again. I probably should have said hello!
beko1987 Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Walking to the park yesterday I spotted this lovely purple Escort Couldn't see any rust as I walked by, although the front bumper is in primer grey, and both front tyres are bald... Datsuncog and Remspoor 2

sutty2006 Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 daewoooooo matiz has been parked at the bottom of our complex since we got here. Top n bottom painted on deck paint by the feel of it! and an anal probe in a yard somewhere off the motorway. Picture shite as was in taxi. seen lots of shite, but too slow to react. Might go for a walk tomorrow. Dyslexic Viking and Remspoor 2
Datsuncog Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 Unexpected sight in central Belfast this lunchtime.... 1983 Nissan Skyline R30 Hardtop, in GTX trim and fitted with the 2.8 litre inline six. DVLA checker on A361PNB indicates its first UK registration as August 2024, so a pretty recent arrival on these shores. Not a massive fan of the rims personally, though since the owner's dumped it on double yellows, presumably they're not all that bothered by what people think... Captain Mainwaring Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 (edited) Not one but two BL spots today, and in the same colour! Love the original plates on the B, pity about the rest of it! EDIT: They're not the same colour at all are they? Silly colour blind twit! EDIT 2: Actually I think they might be? I can't decide. The B might have been that same shade in better times before becoming decrepit. I don't know. EDIT 3: Can someone just tell me if they're the same colour? TIA Edited December 10, 2024 by Captain Mainwaring Gompo, Remspoor, ProgRocker and 3 others 6

BL dipped most of their stuff in it during the late 1970s.
Yoss Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 Strangely but not surprisingly for BL, the small Triumphs - Spitfire and Dolomite - were available in Pageant Blue, but the 2000/2500 weren't. They had the very similar but slightly darker Tahiti Blue. I can't ever remember seeing the small cars in this colour. Typical Leyland, why have one colour when we can have two instead. Let's needlessly complicate matters. Remspoor 1

sutty2006 Posted December 13, 2024 Posted December 13, 2024 520i has been parked here for a long time just outside the hotel. It’s right hand drive but on Spanish plates. Probably ex-pat that’s left it here. Tyres are flat. apparently the 520i is rare? and one of them rugged scenics that never go off road. Remspoor and Dyslexic Viking 2

Back in the late 80s that was a tyre & exhaust shop that I used to use for my MG Metro's tyres when I worked down the road. Didn't know the old County Stores was turned into a museum either - looks like I might have to visit my sister who still lives in the town Says they have upto 100 cars in "Britain's Newest Motor Museum" https://www.countyclassicsmotormuseum.co.uk/ - nice, thanks for posting. andyberg 1
GrumpiusMaximus Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Saw an R-plate Vauxhall Monterey on the A2 this afternoon. Driving down my road later on, I saw it parked up a few doors down from me. What a winner.
