The used mattress in the foreground just adds to the beauty of the 806

I’m guessing that the engine can run with the distributor in four different orientations as long as the plug leads are moved around so the rotor arm is pointing at the right one at tdc?
Yeah the distributor drive gear can be put in at any position with the first cylinder on tdc and it would run but the vac advance canister will foul the block when trying to adjust the ignition timing

It should only take 4 or 5 weekends to complete the welding work and have it in primer. The captain is going grp for the front end by the sounds of things so that will save me from making repair panels for the wing bottoms. I've restored tons of cars and paint for a living so we should breeze through it ?
Hopefully

If anyone else wants to chip in a weekend here or there feel free to come through, I'm up for getting all the welding plus painting the car. Operation make the Dolly great again is a go.

Surely repairing shit like that is the whole point of this forum?
It's a lot worse than that picture to be honest, I've swept half the van off the floor, inner and outer sills plus about 4" into the drivers floor is rotten, I'm all for saving shite but a 2006 Transit Connect was shit when it was new and putting £500 into something like this is mind blowing

How do you think the dye will hold up? Does it seem durable enough to withstand kids ? I'm interested in their black for my door cards and rear seat

I drove a Ford Capri 2.0s and drove it into a wall when my foot slipped off the brake because i had oil on my boots from the garage. Miss that car to this day.

Shame as i have a spare camshaft i swapped out of my GE engine when i upgraded. If the lifter bore had been usable you could have had the cam
-
Is the bore for the lifter totally knackered ?

This old thing is fascinating, never even knew these existed.

Bargain and solid by looks of them sills. I've done a few sets of sills on these and they're usually rotten from front to back

Been following this thread since last year while lurking and it's great to see some other Triumphs being kept on the road around here. Have you got anything sorted to get the engine in the Dolly after the current crisis ?

Long time lurker and have finally decided to introduce myself. The name is Ginger and i weld and paint shite, currently restoring a 68 Triumph Herald 13/60 but it's not one for the purists (bike carbs, big cam, alloy rad, Porsche Riviera Blue etc) I mainly do damaged shite but it's usually modernz and very dull.
