I think the Forum needs some direction today.

So, lets post pics of our current/recent (in the last 12months) shite, be it a box of bits in the corner of the garage requiring reassembly or highly polished solid-gold shite.

I'll get the ball rolling....

Mine getting some waxoil and underseal.

Tis very very very dull and at some point I want rid. Realistically (thanks Mrs Ted) its going to be about September when I can get rid.

Sunday - decided to do a bit of light rust chasing:-

Imp is still not done (as ever), GT6 is sitting there awaiting surgery to its sills when I get off my arse, Scirocco has been sold to Barefoot, DAF is on my drive waiting for me to put a small oil seal on it that I accidentally left off when putting it back together the other week.

In addition I have also had this:

and am now the happy owner of this which I bought from M'coli:

Done well over 1k in the Saab now. I really like it, probably as i got it after driving the Scenic.

This time last year I still had my ex-Rod B, ex-Keith Adams AUDI TWOTRO

IMG_2215.jpg

We went on honeymoon in it to France (it was ace!) but it was one car too many and it had to go. :(

Then there is Land Rover no. 1 - still got - love it to bits

IMG_3618.jpg

Land Rover no. 2 - very sadly sold :( but only to my lodger (who is my best mate), so it's still here. :D

IMG_3411.jpg

One of the reasons for selling the LR was that, even with a Tdi conversion, it was costing a lot to commute in, so I needed a little cheap diesel.

After a couple of false starts I found this 205 turbo diesel and I love it!!!!! It is the best little car I could have hoped for and I've always wanted a GTi-esque one in this colour.

IMG_3576.jpg

Mrs Scruff has a Rover 200 bubble shape and we've still got her Mini which is sitting in the garage awaiting some sills and a good sort-out of the engine.

95' mk2 Sterling, currently off road in storage. Best car I've ever owned.

Image129.jpg

Afteragoodclean.jpg

1987 mk1 Sterling, binned its own engine in spectacular fashion about this time last year. Currently taking up valuable space and rusting away at a mates house. I have recently accepted an offer to swap this for an identical working one. I'll also be stripping this one to bare shell for spare parts

1990 Sterling, currently at a mates garage has finally had gearbox fitted today, though they stuck the wrong ATF oil, it also needs a backbox, MOT, radiator leak sorting and an MOT, maybe THEN I can finally get this sodding thing on the road, should be too long now.

This is my 100 club princess when I got it about 3 years ago. I look the dashboard out, re-fitted the switched and it still needs to go back in. It went to BL day two years ago and some great people in the club got her running and driving around. Thin I ripped the exhaust off putting her back on the trailer.

My Applejack Allegro, back on the road after I cracked the block and head on the old engine by driving down the M11 with a blown head-gasket (I didn't realise it had gone, all it did was lose a little, then a lot, then all, or it's power). But the engine needs to come back out to replace the knackered gearbox.

An Astral blue allegro before I sold it to a friend (bought on ebay where it was advertised as an engine, but it was too solid to scrap. Given back to me in April (after which I painted the bonnet, didn't seem to matter after his marine paint re-paint).

My first car is the AX in front.

That's just made my day - I'm happy that you like it!

I love it. Its brilliant for carrying about the bikes (can easily get 2 complete bikes in the back, wheels still on), is pretty good on fuel (33mpg even round town and with my lead foot). Its been to Cannock, Scafell Pike (with 5 people in it), Sherwood and Dalby Forest with no problems. It will have the joys of going to Hull next week. Can't fault it as an everyday car.

I was expecting the worst because I realised both you and Dollywobbler had not settled with it right but its great for me. Muchas gracias. Assuming it keeps going (I have no plans to part with it except for major mechanical failure) I will hopefully be able to tart it up a bit once I have got off my arse and sorted the DAF and the GT6 (so realistically that day might never come). My mate reckons he can get some 'spray on suede' which I might be able to do the headlining to make it look nicer with rather than fit a new one.

Glad you're liking the Saab HI. It was fine for what I was doing, but even though the 9000 is better in quite a few ways, I'm starting to think that I'm just not a Saab person!

Anyway. This time last year, I'd not long bought this A90 Westminster. A fabulous barge but didn't fancy driving it over to Wales when we moved, so it got sold. Bought privately for £2250, sold for £2100 at auction. Not a bad result considering I did pretty much nothing to it. Wonderful engine, didn't like cornering.

31569_414502303199_640023199_5352689_6695920_n.jpg

Then I made a stupid decision and handed over my stunning Renault 21 Monaco and some cash for this heap.

39666_447955648199_640023199_6226577_658905_n.jpg

A Citroen CX is not to be feared. A badly looked after one is. Sorted some issues out, ignored others. Made a respectable £565 on the bay, but I was massively quids down. I've since promised not to get as carried away again as I did when I agreed to have it. To be fair, it did a lot of miles and only failed to work a few times. Very comfortable with superb suspension.

The CX was pretty thirsty, so it made sense to buy about the only thing that drank more.

168106_10150108063323200_640023199_7561480_4154608_n.jpg

15mpg V8 Landy, but I actually managed to turn in a healthy £700 profit, which made the fuel consumption less of an issue.

With the Landy gone, I then sold the BX to a friend and collected my 1975 Reliant Scimitar GTE on the same day.

196970_10150155846178200_640023199_8191477_3182335_n.jpg

I can't really cope with sports car ride comfort though, so it's up for sale (along with the Mini) and I reckon the Saab will be heading the same way too. Did over 250 miles in it yesterday and the shite steering and jiggly suspension mean it certainly won't be a keeper, despite it's incredibly good condition.

207115_10150209748128200_640023199_8450660_5064567_n.jpg

A fine looking, very capable and spacious machine. Anyone interested at £750? It's getting 35mpg - which is impressive for a perky 2.3-litre four pot.

Thank you. No, but I think I have two of his old steeds.

Craig Cheetham is signed up on here. Not seen him lately though. Perhaps he drowned under the weigh of his own shite. Hmmm. That sounds a nasty way to go, but I do mean it in the automotive sense! Last time I saw his fleet, he had a fabulous Peugeot 205 CJ that someone had downgraded to a 1.1! Shite perfection?

My shite? Hmmm... Had to start from scratch two years ago when we relocated. Cyprus import regs mean bringing our cars over wouldn't have worked, so first job was to find a general-purpose load-lugger:

100_0110-vi.jpg

...which will be "For Sale" soon as Mrs Ramrod wants a convertible.

Next job was find a classic that we could take to local shows:

100_0003-vi.jpg

Autotrader.cy, job done. The only Mk1 Capri on the road in Paphos. Except, since I traded it, I haven't seen it out and about, at all. Meanwhile, after a conversation at a show, I ended up with this:

100_0199-vi.jpg

...which I thought would make a nice little project for about 9 months or so. 18 months later, it looks like this:

100_1699-vi.jpg

...so quite a way to go, then.

This was an offer I found difficult to refuse, price mostly covered by trading-in the Capri.

100_1704-vi.jpg

There have been times I wished I hadn't bothered, but when it gives me a good vibe, it's soooooooooooooo good! So I'll probably hang onto it for some time yet.

I was offered a car that had been abandoned on a hillside, so naturally I grabbed it...

100_1369-vi.jpg

...and now it's in the hands of a young Brit who wanted his first car to be something unusual and preferably a restoration project. Be careful what you wish for, eh?

From the same source has come this:

100_1624-vi.jpg

...which you may remember has a whole thread of its own! And yes, it's still a prospect. I'll keep you updated, obviously; when there is any news at all, that is. I'll probably try to arrange collection in the next week or two.

There's also been talk of an X1/9, of all things; something I never expected to own. However the present owner is considering resurrecting it himself (and actually doing something about it too; the other day I towed it to my friend's garage for him!), so that's a definite maybe.

Current proper motor is this little Maxi

dsc00140a.jpg

It was registered in November 1970, making it 40 years old. I did get a letter back from DVLA confirming it is the oldest 1750 left running. I've not posted a pic before on here - please note the rear plate is the original and it's staying 8)

The original press photos for the facelift had them, see.

Wass all this Scootergate about then? Looks like I missed some merriement. All I can see now is a bit of a mess of daft deletions, oh swizz.

Ok, Limey Maxi photos coming up. Hopefully that David Bailey effort will tease for now.

Some great cars above!

Thinking about Craig Cheetham, I wonder if he still has my old Bluebird saloon? Nice car that one, but sadly no tax/SORN showing on it since beginning of May 2010.

I know photos of all these have recently been seen on here, but my current fleet consists of:

Laurel in snowy Norwich suburbs by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr

The Laurel. It’ll take a lot to make me consider selling this one.

1991-96 Camry line-up by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr

The three older Camrys. Progress has stalled on the accident-damaged saloon due to house commitments, but the new V6 needs just a bit of exhaust fitting and brakes fettling for a fresh MoT. Likely to sell it on if/when I get the V6 estate, there’s no point keeping it as another roadworthy car and it’s too good to break for spares.

And my faithful Camry Sport. Goes very well on trackdays, but was equally good at the weekend bringing 50m of timber and a couple of lintels home from Travis Perkins.
