That should fix it

I love these minor, amateur fixes that look even worse than the damage, here are some I spotted recently:

Not sure what was going on with this Auris, the filler or whatever was a good few mm "proud" of the surrounding surface:IMG_9401.JPEG.8dcfcea3560e62ec4994bdf856519515.JPEG

The lack of flair people seem to have with bodywork beggars belief sometimes. It can’t be done in one afternoon, but the times I’ve seen filler with big furrows in it, the wrong shade, too much put on etc…

Was at the B&C place last year and there was a Mk1 Escort, at presumably eleventy million quid, big fish eyes all over the show, unflattened filler.

At what point does second hand bumper cost < cost of five tins of body filler.

I noticed a repair job on a rear bumper by first drilling holes for extra grippyness for holding the body filler did not hold the body filler. At least they did a good spray job. 😂

There's a small trend on the go at the moment with videos showing super/ramen noodles being used as a car body repair material.

some 'amazing' repairs in the states, complete wooden rear ends in place of a plastic bumper, or shoving a pick up bed on anything!!

I have done this. It was on a rear bumper and it was a bit you couldn't see, but still cable tie sewing.

Skills like these will be useful for the coming apocalypse

This was (still is?) a legitimate mod for the drift yo brigade.... Deliberately drilling parallel holes to have the stitched 'effect'

Fuck me that's a great idea 🤔

Is there a specific flavor one should use?

That's what you get when several states don't have any sort of MOT-esque inspections.

Watch "Just Rolled In" on YouTube for many examples (what gets me with that channel is no matter how dangerous the breakages/faults are, the clip almost always ends with "customer declined repairs".  Do they actively want to crash and get hurt so they can sue everyone else, or are they all permanently high on something/too scared to admit they're wrong/tight as a duck's arse/dumb as a rock/all of the above?)

That's excellent!

If I needed a new bin, the questions I'd be asked by the Council when asking for a replacement one would be more difficult than if it were my own child I'd lost. So I can see the reason for just mending the existing one!

I think Weetabix would be quite a good medium. That sets like cement.

Inevitable when the cost of repair greatly exceeds the value of the car.
