Slowest collection ever

There's no point stringing out the collection journey and the car in question as it's going to be a minor point in the larger picture as you will soon see.

Poo count : 2, as the journey began in the afternoon.  However I predict bowel movements will be into three figures before I get the car home.

Another lovely morning at FOD.

First job : get the car out so I can see all of the big holes and leaks, but still commit and say 'that looks fine'. It's the only way to choose a quality automobile.

It wasn't for moving at all thanks to a stuck brake and a flat tyre.  The first was solved by using a 4lb persuadertron on the rear wheels.  The second was solved by putting a battery in, plugging a tyre compressor into the lighter socket and thus using its own powers against it. A good tug (on the car) and out it popped (the car).

First hazard encountered. As I opened the door I was greeted with lots of small black legs running away.

Poo count is now about 18.

You'll have heard the story about Robert the Bruce and the spider.

History could have been so different had he known about ZERO-IN 'READY TO USE' SPIDER REPELLENT.

Is this a 1.7 turbo? Didn't even know they did a turbo of the 1.7 - that's hard enough to find on its own. I'd be interested to see the engine as the owner of an N/A 1.7 .

As far as I know, all BX TDs used the 1.7 version of the engine. Same story for the Pug 205, 309 and early 405.

Citroen ONLY did a turbo on the 1.7 - The bigger TD's were never fitted to BX's

Most mk2 'special' editions or TD's had the one of the GTI style interiors as standard

Breakfast : You're starting to get the idea. Oil, sugar, processed meat. All Scottish health food groups are represented.

Poo count : finally starting to ease off, but this is dependent on the above.

@davidfowler2000 woke up at his usual Fowler'O'Clock and got this amazing photo.

Weather forecast : Hottest day of the year.

Thankfully there is a loch nearby to fall in when things become too much.

Citroen fettling is shortened to short bursts then a trip to The Loch to cool down. It's very hot.

Let's see what's what.

So it has an engine. There are also holes.

The car sort of exploded at this point.

Finally some bits were poked in the boot which went 'crunch'. However I think all of the holes have been found, which is cause for much celebration.

Some thoughts were made about trying to start the engine, but as there's a cracked main LHM return hose and a leaky octopus, this was deemed to be a bad idea in case it ran the pump dry.

More works to follow.

It will be in real time soon. At the moment I'm still catching up on what's been done at the weekend as I was too knackered to do it at the time.

I'm always impressed with how you just get stuck into cutting out crap metal and welding new stuff in. I spend hours procrastinating with my welding, I find it a real chore.
