I'm sorry but I need to know if the advertised Loo roll was single ply????

After all that. I went in Wetherspoons and never actually used the hotel toilet!

Following her drive back on Sunday, Claire slipped the keys to the Lexus in her bag and this morning is the first time I’ve managed to grab it as she’s home based today.

These are a seriously impressive bit of kit given they’re 18 years old! The only real issue when we collected it was a refusal to start without disconnecting the 12v battery for 10 mins to force a HV reset but I checked the codes at Stafford services on the way home whilst having a coffee and found the only drivetrain fault to be wheel speed sensor related, as well as a couple of historic low voltage ones.

These were all reset and it then started up immediately, which a few days later it has continued to do. I’m going to reread the codes later on today once I’ve finished the garage jobs and we’ll see what’s come back.

I still can’t believe how refined this is for its age!! If it continues to behave itself, I can see it causing real fleet dilemmas!! 🤔

I had an issue with the ABS speed sensor on my 3rd gen RX last year. Bought the sensor and wiring, but it turned out to be the reluctor ring had snapped due to corrosion of the driveshaft. On mine the only quick and easy way to address it was to replace the entire driveshaft, but next time I'd spend more time hunting for a replacement ring. You may be lucky and find they're more readily available for yours.

I haven’t yet had time to get it inside and in the air but I’m thinking the likelihood is the sensor got drowned in the rain…I’ve had it before in my XJR…and caused all sorts of upsets.

The next step is to get it hooked up to the full fat scanner and run some live data to check all four corners before throwing parts at it.

Are the warning lights for ABS, TCS etc showing up on the dash? If not then maybe it's a historic problem that's been fixed/sorted itself out.

Apparently they were last week before I picked it up but they since disappeared.

There has been a degree of damp ingress so that’s on the cards to sort out but as it stands, it’s behaving itself.

What a bargain that Lexus was. Great colour as well, looks classy and will hide any bumps or scrapes fairly well so it still looks very presentable 👍
