sierraman
I saw a 106 a while back with a big towbar on it. Again, ideal for pulling twin axle caravans through muddy fields.

That Chrysler Lebaron used to be a local car to me. Here's one of @bunglebus photos of it. sheffcortinacentre
Mate towed a 5x3 box trailer with his fiat 126 (supplied a towbar for TUV too). The freedom microlite caravan uses 126 wheels & is towable by one esp in its homeland.
Timewaster
I once moved a pile of soil and ruble in a very old livestock trailer towed with a borrowed 1.0 Nova. It pulled it the mile or so down the road fairly well. Stopping at the other end was not fun though.

warch
The most incongruous tow car I've seen was a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VI towing a caravan. Not underpowered as such, but you wouldn't want to forget the caravan was there and go into full rally attack mode on a nice twisty B road. scorchio69, sdkrc and LightBulbFun 1

Richard_FM
I remember there was a fad of putting tow bars on cars for extra protection in case of a rear end shunt, though I've heard the can cause more harm than good in a high speed collision.

sutty2006
As seen in the caravanshite thread. Citroen xsara Picasso with a 1700kg twin axle caravan on the back. Two grand kids and a dog. Ben_O
No pictures I'm afraid but a customer of ours wanted a tow bar fitted to his Morris traveller. Your not going to use it to tow your 4 berth caravan are you? Asked us. No, just a small trailer said he. 2 weeks later, we had word that he had pulled the back tyres off the traveller whilst towing said caravan. Funny he didn't bring it to us for that to be fixed! I've also had a couple of 2CVs with a towbar, mostly used for carrying bicycles about (for those occasions when you don't feel like poking the bicycle out through the roof), and a small trailer for collecting firewood. Twigs mostly. Also functions as an ideal rear parking sensor, and for hitting shins against at night when you forget it's there. 9/10. Would recommend. CreepingJesus
I had one that, quite literally, worked (or didn't) the other way round. BFO NATO-spec multi level job, mounted on the back of an 8x4 grab tipper: full air and electrics, and 370bhp pulling it. Tow anything, right? Absolutely. Motor was plated for 41t GCW. Reversing, however... The only two occasions I ever used it involved a hefty gen set, and a mini digger, both on twin axle trailers. Could I see either of them in the mirrors? Nope. And when they did put in an appearance during reversing, that only indicated they'd come too far round and I'd need to try again. Pretty sure I don't have a pic, as it was pre potato cam. Don't have pics of the morning I spent hauling static caravans into the SECC with a LWB Frontera either. It coped admirably outside on tarmac, but inside on painted concrete, it needed three guys standing on the bullbar to achieve any marginal amount of steering! warch

barefoot
I have a towbar on the back of my T2. Obviously I used it to tow a really, really cool* trailer until a wheel fell off on the M1. Once again I'm so scene it's practically obscene. Dan_ZTT, goosey, Joey spud and 8 others 8 2
Blake's Den
I used my Turner Ranger to move our 35x10 foot caravan. The size difference was hilarious! In this pic I'm using the front towball: It is actually rated to tow 10 tons (imperial) but I don't know how you stop that with for drum brakes off a mini..... sdkrc, timolloyd, LightBulbFun and 3 others
