To be fair it might be "ironic" - I'm not so sure a pedestrian impaled on it will appreciate the irony.

That’s one of those cars you know when it goes for the test it’ll have multiple bald tyres, the exhaust loose, wheel bearing sounding like a cement mixer etc. Covered in stickers and shit but just not maintained. At all.

A baby on board sticker compulsory, oblivious to the irony in the death trap.

In the 1930s, in the USA, if you wanted to travel in air-conditioned comfort, you needed a 'swamp cooler' attached to your car window. Their use continued until the sixties when modern air conditioning became a regular feature in their mainstream cars.

A car swamp cooler, which typically hangs on the passenger front window, is filled with cold water and balsa wood shavings in a wire cage. A large opening in the front of the cooler allows hot air to enter the cooler, evaporating the water. Cooler air is then blown into the car’s interior. The wood shavings help retain water and create better air flow.

Lower cost coolers allow the air to enter only when the car moves. However, some luxury units have an electric fan that circulates the air even when the vehicle is stationary. Most coolers held enough water for about two or three hours of cool-air goodness. The colder the water, the better the heat exchange.

And as they're designed for LHD, just result in a cold right ear in the UK

Those things live on in the shape of evaporative air coolers, which resemble domestic air-conditioning units and make all sorts of unwarranted claims about themselves vis a vis being able to lower the temperature in a room.  They can, but only if the relative humidity is below a certain level.  Relative humidity in the UK is rarely below said level so they are, by and large, ineffective.

I went into a Zara in a shopping precinct back in the summer, which had a number of evaporative air coolers operating on the shop floor - they seemed to have been hired in from 'Sunbelt Rentals' or someone like that, presumably because the air conditioning proper appeared to have failed.  Anyway, it was like walking into a Florida swamp; the temperature in the shop must have been pushing 90 and there was an all-pervading stench of stagnant water.  I suspect that the evaporative 'coolers' were, in fact, making it hotter in there by virtue of the heat given off by their not insubstantial fan motors.

The visit was worth it, however, as I found a decent pair of jeans in the sale.

I bought one of those evaporative coolers in B&Q for about £10 at the end of one summer. Not really convinced it’s any more effective than just a fan.

Off topic, but was that in Norwich? We went to Zara in the summer and that describes it perfectly.

Didn't buy anything though!

Yes, it was in Norwich.  Glad I was able to evoke the experience so accurately.

They don't though, they stand back and think 'close, just a couple more stickers and it'll be great'

They probably think “people  will think I’m famous with all these sponsors. “

This is currently being broken for spares on Farcebook Marketplace.

Sometimes the kindest thing to do after it’s been subjected to all that crap stuck to it is to banger race it. 😂

It has one of those spring loaded towbar covers! One of dad's escorts had one of them, we were camping one time and I was fiddling with it and nearly took my fingers off with it, so he ended up taking it off.

So many questions. I think my favourite* bit is the dangly wire; is it a supply for a bit of giffer tat that's fallen off or a homemade earthing strap?

Is that an externally fitted heated rear window?

How satisfying to buy that and spend a couple of weekends with a heat gun, slowly filling the bin with removed  tat.

Even if you didn't want an RCZ .
