That all sounds horrible.

The quote above is what I want to pick up on. Meds are packaged in varying amounts. I have to take one lot which I have to have a stomach protector tabs. However, these are never for the same time period. I suppose the stomach protector amounts will match another med and cover the same time perod

My doctor's/pharmacy are smart enough to prescribe sufficient of each that they all need renewing at the same time.  NHS app to reorder and in the pharmacy within 48 hours but usually same day and they will deliver free too.  As they are but a ten minute walk away I don't opt for that.

On the M77 this morning, a road worker running onto the road during gaps in the traffic throwing tar from a shovel into or near a pothole. I wonder how long that "repair" will last.

The question you want to ask is how long the road worker will last before hes hit by traffic.

Air-con has just given up in the Jag. No cold air.

£565 for what? 4 weeks of actual working air-con, then it gives up. I'm supposed to be going on holiday in August and want to take the Jag WITH WORKING air-conditioning. Seems like this is too much to ask.

I fucking give up. I truly fucking give up. 😡

“OMG a pile of rust with an oval badge and vin plate for £eleventy million what a bargain.

a tidy one owner Rover with 56,000 going for a £1000 “wow that’s mental, just scrap it the head gasket probably gone” “Richard and hyacinth bucket might buy it”  etc etc

How can so many morons all congregate in the same place at the same time !?

My advice here is to have never owned a single car with air con in your life then you won't miss it.

Because 99% of people only get their car knowledge from stereotypes, internet memes and Clarkson.

This 147 is cursed. Front end noises that won't stop, a droning sound that comes and goes day by day...and now it killed a muntjac on the way to work. Poor thing didn't stand a chance, and unfortunately I had no way to avoid it.

I had seriously considered getting a 2018-20 Civic over the last few days but when this sort of thing happens, I don't know if I should.

Well it appears that the question of whether my bike would be repaired or written off is now moot as my mother just informed me that it has been stolen from her driveway in broad daylight 😠 Meh

In positive news I didn't need any surgery and should be discharged from hospital today hopefully.

Car boot sales

Encountered a rude bloke selling some air tools. He had this exact set, Lidl special:

image.jpeg.7f4bd0fb9e0d897c070c2d91c666f86b.jpeg

Nothing fancy. They're normally £12.99 when they have them in

I asked how much and he said £15.

I politely declined

He invites me to make an offer and points out the air compressor on the floor and a sandblaster on the table and said he was selling it all as a set

I ask if he then meant £15 for the lot, I only want the kit above...

He said no, £15 for the kit.

I decline once again 😂

Then he asks me to make an offer. I had £5 in my head but knew it would be insulting to him so I didn't even bother and said we're on different pages so I'll leave it

He then gets all stroppy and says "next time I'll wear a red suit and give everything away like father Christmas"

What's the need for the hostility 😂 overprice something and then get your knickers in a twist when someone doesn't want it 🤷‍♂️

I use an old phone as an mp3 player, through the dining room stereo.  Playlist has been on it for a couple of years.

Suddenly a few minutes ago it started playing some dreadful rap shit, "Chase & Status".

No idea where that has come from.  No one here to change the playlist and it hasn't been played previously.

Wife's cousin is on some kind of disability benefits. Mobility car, elecrtric scooter (can't walk),until she  goes to loads of concerts, MUST have the latest Ninja appliance and has now announced she's just bought a new Samsung S25 Ultra (cheapest one is £1249).

I begin to wonder why I work and not claim to be disabled with an unidentifiable condition.

I'm laughing at the idea of a specifically minded intruder breaking in, leaving not a trace but instead fucking around with your playlist.

Reminds me of when my cousin added 'Lard x 10' to my aunt's shopping list.
She returns home with 10 bricks of lard and then my great uncle goes spack because no-one owned up to wanting the lard.

Do you know anything about medical matters?

About ME/CFS ?  Most sufferers look pretty normal. And diagnostic is to say "we can't find anything wrong with you, must be ME"

There is something called Post Exertional Malaise.  It works like this.  If you had this, this is what your life would be like:

You have an event you really want to attend later in the week.  You spend 4 days resting so that you are fit enough to attend.

You get to the event and adrenaline keeps you pushing through, until eventually on the way home you flop, then the excess of excerting yourself and the adrenaline combine to both exhaust you and keep you from sleeping.  You might just about be okay the day after the event but on days 2,3 and 4 you will be absolutely wankered. Even if you did not drink.

What people see is someone that doesn't look disabled but they don't see the days wasted in pain, with brain fog, and dizziness, barely able to get out of bed.

What's supposed to be wrong with your wife's cousin?  Maybe you should try finding out how shit her life is.

The vertical hold on my Ferguson portable TV set is crap, the picture spends half of the time either jiggling up and down or shifted 50% up the screen.

Decided to check out ebay for perhaps a more modern TV for the project, maybe even a colour one. Not only are they all £80+, they're all bloody Matsui (usually with something in the description about "trusted brand Matsui")

Matsui is Currys own brand!

£80 seems a lot for a poverty spec 14" telly.

I'm going to go and rummage in my parents attic to see if mum still has my bedroom TV from my childhood, I think it's still there. I was actually still using it when I was at college, though by that point it was being driven by a raspberry pi rather than the DVD/VHS combo.

The ongoing saga continues as I just got a call from the police saying they have found my bike in a park just up the road from my mom's house. I guess they might have dumped it to see if there was a tracker on it etc, stay tuned to see if it's ultimately repairable or if it's a write off.

Was there no guarantee on the work? Surely there must be some comeback on it failing?
Something else must have gone out - or it could be something they did.
If they won't even investigate, they're arseholes.

I have been sticking some coppers aside to have the SVX's A/C done - BeCool in Kettering had a look and said that a pipe had a hairline fracture. They could fabricate a new pipe and get it going again for £400, but they couldn't guarantee that something else would go out, owing to the age of the car and system (its 32 years old this year). I did the whole 'well clever me' home A/C regas with @Captain Slow and the refrigerant just farted out again. That car is MISERABLE to drive in the summer because of the massive glasshouse plonked on the body. I've wanted the A/C on it doing for years.

Now, the semi-infamous Windley's SVX actually had the pipe I needed loose in the engine bay - they wanted pennies for it - the SVX lot keep telling me to get them to fit this random pipe of unknown condition, of which they won't guarantee. They would guarantee their fabricated pipe, but the SVX lads say that's 'daylight robbery' and they're fleecing me and that they should guarantee this random scrap bit of pipe (that they didn't supply?)

Eh? Why would you chance sticking some old ally pipe back on an A/C system when it's got to come apart anyway? Am I missing something?

I had a chat with @Imhotep and it sounds like the dryer has given up.  I have the car booked in, again, for a check up. @Imhotep reckon that if they cannot find the leak, the issue will be the dryer, which I can't hear clicking in whennI switch the aircon on.

Everything else is fine, condenser, gas, pipes etc... dryers are pennies for a new genuine one too so I reckon that's the path I've got to go down. Despite the cheapeness, its an expense I could do without. It would have been nice for Jagiar not to make an air conditioning system made out of aged cheese.

That is indeed what every CRT on ebay is listed as. At least the ones from sellers likely to have enough brain cells to package it properly.

The one I thought was in my parents attic was nowhere to be seen, so I bought one off ebay for £60 from a seller who's feedback all says they package stuff well.
