This happened earlier on. Shat myself when this happened on the motorway at 70 mph. Successfully removed and will be added to the list of jobs to fix during the week. More miffed at the fact I’m going to have to replace what was a perfectly good tire. Probably up there as one of the most frightening things I’ve ever experienced

Mine went with a huge bang and a huge shower of black flakes in the mirror.

Didn't replace it for a while and managed to suck up loads of water and shite that ruined the MAF :(

Turns out I can remove standard suspension and fit aftermarket coilovers without issue, but can't for the life of me fit new anti rollbar drop links.

No matter what I do the little shits rattle.

Allegedly LEMFÖRDER drop links outlast other makes with the possible exception of TRW.  Cheaper ones are often done after three moths.

Never had a problem with them when I have used them, as you say others are knackered in no time.

Arse

Our tumble dryer packed up , I looked online couldn't find anything that matched the symptoms it had for an easy fix so rang bosch as I was getting moaned at , £99 plus parts for a one off fix or £15.50 a month for 12 months cover , warranty and new for old replacement, so I took the £15.50

guy has just been out , took him 15 minutes of trial and error then he pulled some fluff out of a microswitch connection and fucking arse it burst into life

Seems like I've sorted it. I stripped both down to their component parts and discovered a galled thread right at the bottom of the threaded rod on one of them, exactly where the lower locking nut sits. I gave it a tickle with a small file then gave them both a good toot of WD40 to flush off any more crap, then refitted them.

So far no noises. So I've come to the conclusion it was preventing that link from being fully tightened up and allowing it to move.

Just short the motor connectors out in 6 months then wire it back correctly and pick up the phone, may as well get your moneys worth...

*I neither condone nor encourage this behaviour

Just took my two weeks holiday in July off the works rota since it's finally been kiboshed, coupled with a few summer gigs being cancelled in the past week I officially have nothing to look forward to now. Hope a nice car comes up for sale on here soon ?

I'd probably burn the house down if I did that

Just had landscaper round to give a price for a decking area at the side of the house. Ballpark figure of £2000 subject to him checking materials price etc.

Mrs has just said “ That’s ok there’s about that in cash in your secret stash!” Wish I’d bought that  Carlton 2 weeks ago now, no chance of having any spare cash whilst I’m not working or doing a minimum wage delivery job, but can’t suggest using savings as Mrs and kids paying everything at the moment.

I did say I’d do the decking, she laughed as she’s seen my diy efforts in the past - the materials are probably half of that figure anyway.

I'd rather keep something in the pot and learn quickly how to do decking !!!

I've just been over on Open Forum - I know, I really shouldn't, it boils my piss far too often - and seen someone use the "word" outwith in a post; not once but twice!  WTF is outwith?  It seems to have been used as a replacement for outside, in both cases.  What was wrong with outside?  Is that not a perfectly good well-established easily-understood English word?

Show me who invented outwith.  I'll show you a red stain on the wall where his head used to be.

Seems to have happened in the last six to nine months. Right up there with:

- Going forward

and

- One time

and the quite terrible pronunciation of "route" to rhyme with "rout" or "lout". This seems to be an American thing, not for the first time.

We’ve all been put on consultation.  120 staff, 30 to go straightaway, remainder to get the chance to reapply for new contracts.

Informed some departments will be hit quite hard, others barely affected.  My one is due for what was termed as decimation.  So it looks like I am probably out of work at the end of June.

It does make the “shall we shan’t we” discussions about moving back to New Zealand a little easier

I worked for some yank outfit earlier this year and liked the expression "reaching out" as I managed to use it as often as possible in the wrong context till they sacked me

"I'll be late tomorrow as I need to reach out to the VD clinic for some test results",

"I'll be late tomorrow as the 206 has a flat tyre and I'll need to reach out to the secondhand tyre place first thing"

"Sorry can't do 10:30 as I'll be reaching out for my tea break"

"Why is this security guead reaching out and escorting me off the premises?"

Outwith is a well established Scottish word, I was similarly surprised when i first moved up here.  Because of all the Scots in the oil industry it spreads like Covid19, i was reviewing a document written by a Brazilian the other day and it was full of outwith this and that.

I always change it to outside because as shown on this thread it's fairly obscure.

I'm always tempted to say reach around instead of reaching out in a meeting but haven't quite worked up the courage yet...

"New normal"

I've just broke a tooth. Right at the back, been filled years ago and a peice has broken off the side.

Not hurting, so hope for the best. Not a lot of dentistry being done at the moment.

I seem to have woken up this morning in a parallel universe.

I'm having a glance at car insurance quotes.

Unbelievably at 40 years of age and 20 years worth of no claims bonus the cheapest I've found is £708.

Are they confusing my vehicle details with a fucking Ferrari or something!??!

I broke my front crown off a month or two ago, apart from making me look like even more of a prat it's not causing any issues so it can wait.
