Oh, and I took a jumper back to Reiss that I got for Mrs Imp for Christmas (it wasn't very nice on) and they wouldn't refund it as it was more than 14 days after I bought it, so I had to do an exchange so now have a £120 cardigan that I didn't want or need. The fact it was reduced from £150 is no consolation.

Bought Mrs Roobarb one of those fancy Dyson curling hairdryer tong thins for Christmas. Bought it early as I was worried they would sell out / I would forget.

Went to use it on Boxing Day and it blew our ring circuit when she went to use it the first time.

Took it back to the big box electrical store to be told, I only just squeezed in for the 30 day replacement in store. Otherwise I would have had to send it back to Dyson. Can’t bloody win sometimes!

Bollocks. Check the consumer protection laws. Retailer is responsible if it is not fit for purpose.

I typed and then deleted a long speech about the thing that's making me grumpy.

I'm trying to apply CPR to a horse that's not breathing, and am being told that I'm doing it wrong.

If you actually were trying to revive a horse I'm extremely sorry !

No actual horse involved.

Sounds like a shitty situation. Sorry you find yourself in it.

Get on fb messenger to dyson, they'll sort it. Their the best team, I did my v11 warranty claim entirely by messenger.

One thing their well practised in is a warranty claim! Then send the fucked one to @cobblers who can strip it down and tell us how it's fucked itself!

Roobarb is in Muricah - consumer regs might be different over there.

S others have stated bill-hooks.

Go through the steps on the CAB site.

https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/somethings-gone-wrong-with-a-purchase/return-faulty-goods/

and if you cannot get your money back (ie a replacement) and you have used  CC to purchase read this.

https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/somethings-gone-wrong-with-a-purchase/getting-your-money-back-if-you-paid-by-card-or-paypal/

Never let them take the goods away for repair or investigation of problem. If they do you cannot prove anything afterwards.

Not sure how well versed the Citizens' Advice Bureau will be in Minnesota consumer rights legislation...

Buying anything that grade A knob Dylan is involved with will always end in disappointment. Never has a brand been more based on shite over marketing than Dyson. The art of selling very shite kit at premium prices.

I can think of at least one more example. Coincidentally, my grump is that I've had an email from work to say that there's an iPhone waiting for me.

Some Apple stuff is crap, but some is genuinely superb and ground breaking. Everything Dyson is shit with fail points built in to ensure people need to buy a new one after a few years (at best) and some people are daft enough to repeat the mistake.

I intend to try out this iPhone's ground breaking properties immediately.

I'll probably just dump it in the black hole under the van seat. I certainly won't be using the bastard anyway, life is stressful enough.

Weekly update: It's bad news.

Wish there was - the US can be very iffy and it’s not until you don’t have something like the CAB that you actually miss it.

Instead everyone has to sue each other here...

Ha ha ha. Right now I’d like to be back in the UK. -20C again as a low today and topped it off with a light warm up and sprinkle of slippery snow tonight.

The cold does make it a nice clear day though!

When people who know nothing about cats suddenly come over all concerned for no concernible reason. Casper has been sitting on that fence by the edge of the woods for the last six months now.

Interfering busybody wasting my time and, more critically, the RSPCA's. Fuckwit.

Been a supervisor and manager in 2 different re homing and rescue centres, in the second one i was at, we had a running joke/situation of this woman who would come in at least twice a week to hand in another "stray" cat.

In all my time there, i don't think a single one of them was a stray, they were all her neighbours and folks nearby.

In fact, she brought the same poor fucking cat back to us 3 times in 2 weeks and even had the cheek to ask us "are you sure he isn't stray?"

"Yes, i'm certain....that's why you've managed to get him here 3 times, we're not just immediately sticking him in a van and dropping him back off in your garden when you hand him in you know..... we speak to the owners and they pick him up, they live 2 houses down from you and are worried why he keeps randomly going missing"

"So he goes missing?"
"Only when he's been kidnapped and wrongly handed in here "

"Well....better to be safe than sorry i guess"

"No... no..... please just leave him alone from now on, he's a cat, doing cat things, it's normal.... honest"

I think the weekly struggle to not yell "STOP BRINGING US YOUR NEIGHBOURS CATS YOU FUCKING LUNATIC" wore me out.

Overnight magic fairy dust was sprinkled over the horse and somehow it's alive. Either that or it's a ghost.

Anyway my post in the grin thread says Sunday was fine.

Well, despite everything that I've managed to screw up, she still wants to be.

Our lovely 1 ½ year old cat who loved the kids, was as soft as a ball of cotton wool, who we had for two months (and had visited every night) collapsed and died just before Christmas. We miss her. This is just six months after our previous cuddly predator for got hit by a car and died.
