Best mate has been bounced off his Blackbird by a Beemer, he is battered about with a few broken bones but otherwise ok. Bike less so, it was an Autoshite bike but his pride and joy that will be written off for certain. Hopefully he can buy it back but finding a full set of plastics for it will be a laugh.

In other news, does anyone have any advice on a Porsche 944 ball joint. Porsche don't sell them on their own. It's £700 for the full arm only.

I can see replacement kits but I can also see people selling Jetta ball joints that also fit 944s on ebay.

Anyone got any experience?

I get them on the stalk from my fiancée's step dad. Usually for free or in exchange for a coffee.

I used to hate them but the last few years I seem to have developed a taste for them.

A nicely cooked sprout is a treat.

Glad he's reasonably ok considering, a full set of Chinese panels can be had for £400 on ebay, a friend bought some when he crashed his '12 R1 and the quality was actually really good.

That seems a lot.

Mine is £111 per month for a four bedroom house and we do use quite a bit of both gas and electric.

Solar panels keep it down a bit but they are "Rented Roof" type so when we aren't using it we don't get the feed-in bill reduction.

Daughter though it was far too high but quotations from competitors would only have reduced it by £4 per month.

I moved the window based suet ball feeder to the nearby tree yesterday as the little birds seemed reluctant to approach the building. It now has loads of birds, but not the little ones I was aiming to help.

Bird seed means the little ones get more of a look in. It does also mean pigeons in large numbers once the word get a round.

Re sprouts:

Saute some onions in lots of butter, add garlic and diced chorizo, then add shredded sprouts and chestnuts if its xmas, otherwise walnuts.

Unfortunately we're tied in with this company because the previous tenants didn't sort their stuff out properly and just handed the reins to us. They're still sending final demands to them addressed here. Keep forwarding to letting agents, yet nothing happens, so unsure if it's the letting agents or the energy company that is being a bunch of cocks.

Could you take a daily reading and bung it in a spreadsheet that will generate a graph of your consumption and if it does seem correct then eliminate suspect items one at a time?

Chances are it will also need exhaust, engine casing, possibly forks, maybe rear plastics so will add up. He was doing about 60mph when it happened so quick enough to do a bit of damage.

One of my biggest regrets is selling my WRX hatchback because I'd always wanted a Maserati, I had it 2 years , never spent a penny on it other than tyres, servicing and a LOT of petrol and I sold it for £100 more than I paid for it, that all went to shit with the Maserati though , it was broken every time i got in it and after 2 years i sold it with all its faults for 1/2 what i had in it.

I loved that wrx , people whinge about the fuel they drink but everywhere I went in it I got out with a smile on my face

If it’s a flat, is it one where all the meters are in a communal cupboard? It is very common to have ‘crossed’ meters where they’re connected to the wrong flats, can often go unnoticed for years as consumption is generally similar until large family versus cat lady scenarios.

Flick off your power at the mains and then check if the leccy still advancing on the meter. If it is, you’ve probably got a crossed meter and need them out to check the meter details.

Alternatively, did you get an opening read/final read when you moved. Could’ve the previous tenants ‘under-read’ the meter on purpose so you’re paying for theirs.

Yes we had a reading given to the electric & gas providers dated the day we moved in, submitted by the letting agents.

I've got a feeling our tumble drier is on the blink - goes on once a day for the last load of washing for the day but it cut out several times this evening, so I think I've got a culprit :/

This has happened to me. Not Npower by any chance is it? Because of them dragging thier feet I'm in debt with them now. Been put on a key meter which might be expensive but allows me to pay off the debt (in a few years) and keep some control of the electricity. I should've used someone else...
