This is the point where I'm at, new business is set up and new bank account is also now live. A customer paid into the old account even though I told them not to, £500 gone .. he must have checked the old account at lunch time.

Not sure where this will leave me yet with 'the tax man' everything I have taken out of the old business is squeaky clean.... However .. the 10 payday loans (at least) from the company account is going to take some explaining. If they ask.

Leaves me stuck for transport, I was hoping that 500 was going Into the new account (like I asked and stated on invoice) but no.

So, fucked for a car now!!!!!!

Also can't get out to see customers. Let's hope there are no major incidents.

Oh yeah the bank won't let me close the account without two signatures.. can't get hold of him so account still open.

Why do people just want to rip people off?

If you're not too fussy on what you rock up in - I have a few outstanding collects to sort. If you want - you could take one on a loaner and use…… it'll help me out actually. There's a Granvia pickup thatis probably closer to you - or the 330CI that is sitting near Derby...…. and the XJR6 near there that has just been fettled on here.

Take your pick dude - seriously……….

Hanging the washing out in the garden for the first time this year, I spied an old washing up bowl.

Just the job, thinks I - to drain the old knackered battery ready for the tip.

It wasn't as easy as I thought - bloody heavy to turn upside down without causing a major disaster and then fond it had to be held up and tilted back and forth to drain it - should have put something in the bowl to take the weight.

Job done, wiped it down and put it out of the way only to discover the electrolyte sloshing all over the bench, among all the tools and bits of 'useful stuff' waiting for jobs there.

Fortunately a glass bench top (OK, it is a chest of drawers - bedroom furniture) and there was a pie of old towels to hand but it was quite difficult to wipe up.  Hardly any burns to my ungloved hands

Emptied the bowl into a miniature aquarium thingy, chucked it in a plastic tray in case that leaked and went for a walk - but couldn't find my earbuds so spent twenty minutes unravelling a pair of pound shop ones that have sat unused in a  drawer for the past three years.

Half way around the five mile walk, found the Sennheiser earbuds in my jacket pocket.

Spotted a huge kite in the shape of an octopus.  Raised the camera to snap it and it's dead - left switched on :(

Realised later that it turns itself off after five minutes so got a picture on my way home :)

From about half a mile - should have taken the tele-zoom :(

From about 1/4 mile.

Two things;

Whatever happened to Moto-SCAT?

And my dear old mother, who kept mislaying her house keys...

She had a key box installed on the outside of the building.

The other day she asked, 'Did I tell you the number of the new key box?'

'No? Your brother says I didn't tell him either...'

Silly old bat now knows where her spare keys are, just that no bugger can get to them.

This sort of key safe? Very easy to pick, pm me for details...

Took the 944 to a garage a week ago and paid them £35 to look over it and tell me what was wrong last week. I thought the wheel bearings were fecked as they were an advisory at the last MOT but they stressed they were fine, they were tapered ones and should have some play.

They did advise though that there was play in the steering column and rack, one of the ball joints was fucked and it was rusty as fook plus a few other little bits.

Fine, I need to get it done. I said I just want the steering and the ball joint doing, I'll sort everything else. They said they'd price it up and come back to me the following morning.

I rang on Friday afternoon as had not heard from them. they said they were having trouble with the parts.

Rang them on Tuesday, they apologised and said they would come back to me on Wednesday.

Didn't hear owt on Wednesday, so went to the garage  and they promised to ring me today. Which predictably they didn't.

I have to be honest, I really didn't care about the price to sort the mechanicals, I just wanted the car sorted. It's my daily I have enough other cars to worry about I don't mind paying someone else to sort this one. They were the ones that wanted to price it up, I wanted to book it in and get it fucking mended.

Yet here I am a week later with no car. Twats.

I took it to them as they have loads of old rally cars inside, a couple of Mk2 escorts, a 205 GTi and so on so would know their way round old cars. They might be busy but have well fobbed me off so can do one.

Porsche dropped off at another garage today. Will see how we get on with them. I hope they take credit cards as I am absolutely brassic.

Too late yeah, I've spoken to the bank, the only way to close it is to go to court.

My uncle got ripped off by his business partner. He was too trusting of the smooth talking guy. A taxi business, so basically cash, which wasn’t paid in by the partner. The guy also swapped the documents on the rover 75s they had so that my uncle was paying off the partner’s loan and the partner didn’t bother. Also didn’t bother paying the licence for the taxi radio equipment. Tried taking him to court but he ran off to Spain. The current debt is about £80,000 despite the fact that my uncle died two years ago ( at 62) and they’re still trying to evict my aunt from her house. While he was alive a bankruptcy petition was denied because of the house.

I’m in business with a life long friend from university- thirty years next year. Total trust and a non-cash business.

But, I air my thoughts on such matters in public, whereas some people have got it into their heads that I go running to the mods every time I don't like something. That is not true.

The Chinese whisper effect. (a turn of phrase, not racist before anyone reports).

In a completely different field, away from cars, i receive a lot of criticism from certain cliques. One person says one thing wrong, others click onto it, say that plus add on their own interpretations and allegations and before you know it, 30 people are all against you because of something they heard from their mates and because "everyone" they wrongly trust is saying it, it must be true.... even when the evidence proves it isn't.

Seemingly, the times we live in. Sadly.

I would never prevent people from grumping about their relationships, but I do object to phrases like 'they're all like that,' and 'snakes with hips.' It's just not respectful. It also isn't reflective of the situation, nor helpful. Relationships struggle and fail for many reasons, and I don't think just spouting nonsense about women all being mad is either comforting or helpful.

To be fair, I know a lot of blokes aged 45 to 60 who to a man say very similar things about women. So much so that I believe marriage should be time limited by law and couples should be forced to split up for 10 years from 45 to 55

New Pod, I know you're having a really rough time of it right now and I for one, feel genuinely sympathetic but are you really serious?

What purpose would it serve?

I've given this a lot* of thought, as I've been to the pub tonight to drown my sorrows,

It worked a little as I met 6 people I hadn't seen for years.

Back to the subject though, 45 to 55 were amongst the best of the 51 years we had,

No worry about the kids, no worry about old age,

The thing with most relationships you read or hear about, is that it's mostly one sided. It's funny how everyone seems to be perfect, it's their partners that you probably haven't met that are a nightmare. Possibly a few of us probably moan about our wives/girlfriends, but I bet most of them would have a story to tell in return. We (men and women) are all different and should be treated as such.

In my workplace, I have been subject to and overheard further examples of, sexism and the perpetrators were women.

"I don't trust men that aren't into football".

"Men have to be tall".

The consensus amongst this particular group appears to be that unless a man displays alpha characteristics, has a traditionally male job or is senior enough in his office environment to have his own parking space then he is invalid as a man.

A cause of male suicide which has been cited is having issues or anxiety about masculinity.

Of course there are also plenty of examples of similar sexist behaviour by men.

I don't think anyone would claim that women are never sexist - not all women are though. As usual, it's easy for the loudest voices to be seen as speaking for the majority, when really, they're just the loudest voices.

I think a lot of it comes down to numbers, when I have worked in male dominated environments it tends to be the men who are sexist and come out with this crap, when it’s a female dominated environment it’s the other way round. What I would add though is that in the last ten years I have noticed a shift where it seems acceptable to be blatantly sexist towards men in some of the meetings I have been in, not really heavy stuff but low level digs that would have a woman up in arms if put the other way around. I always make a point of calling them out and usually get an embarrassed apology. Apart from one woman, thankfully now retired, who would never apologise and whose attitude was that she had had sexist comments made to her somit was only fair she gave them out now. I repeatedly pointed out that none of the male staff there at that time were responsible for what had happened in the past but it made no difference and one member of staff ended uo going down the formal grievance route in the end.

What it comes down to is that some people are dicks, that doesn’t matter whether they are male or female. Then there are the sheep who go along with the prevailing wind, good or bad and then there are the decent people. Thankfully I still believe the last group outweigh the first numbers wise.

I'm quite lucky in that throughout my career I've worked with women who swear more and are less offended than many men I've met. Which skews my view slightly when I do meet a professionally offended female as I'm not used to it.

Jesus Christ.

Can I take this moment to remind anyone thinking about going into business with anyone that a limited company or similar is fantastic protection against losing your personal assets in the event of this kind of thing. Not many people seem to be aware of the implications of being a sole trader / non incorporated partnership when stuff goes massively wrong.

Obviously you can get into the situation of personal director guarantees for loans etc but that’s a very conscious decision.

Twat in the blacked out focus.

Yes to expanding foam up the exhaust.

Also a couple of bottles of Gorilla glue all over his windscreen, it expands slightly as it sets. It'd be a real cunt to get off.

I have industrial grade cold sores and may face hurts a lot due to this, thank you recent unknown infection for leaving my immune system weaker than a weak thing.

It’s a lovely day... I know I’ll get the camper out and ready it for camping by doing a few jobs e.g. fixing the broken hatch...

... except inexplicably the camper storage place is locked up today.... so my camper is held prisoner...

Good luck, Aston Martin.   I suppose its too much to hope, with a user name like that, whether the copper asked if you thought you were Stirling Moss....
