Personally I'd go for the interview if I was really keen on the job. If you don't go and apply next year there's always the possibility that there's someone who says that he didn't attend last year which wouldn't exactly enhance your chances.

Exiled Tat, sorry it still hasn't turned up, tracking still says it's in 'transit' but nothing more. Did you ever find out if it made it to the country?

More likely to just be the spring rather than the bottom arm.

Yep, springs made of cheese, our C3 is on its 3rd set of springs, doesn't normally drop so far that the tyre rubs the arch tho..

Depends where they snap. Sometimes they’ll just drop an inch or two, sometimes they’ll drop over the bottom seat and rub they tire and occasionally if you’re really lucky, they’ll dislodge and spear the inner sidewall.

Usually if you’ve recently fitted premium brand tyres.

Bling-springs seem to last about 60k miles.  Currently approaching 180000...

Try some reverse psychology on the job interview people. Ring them up and say you’re prepared to meet them at a hotel near where you’re holidaying and if they can’t be arsed making it, you’ll assume they’re just a cowboy outfit.

Perhaps add a few swear words, they’ll appreciate your honesty.

Starting to get royally pissed off with Virgin Media. Have recently moved and although they weren’t the cheapest chose Virgin for broadband as they could install soonest something like December 14th. Then it was delayed until December 27th, then pulled back to December 22nd, then rescheduled for the 9th Jan, I’m sure you can see what’s coming, they’ve just called me up to say it’s cancelled! But this time “we don’t know when, it’s just on hold” Apparently it’s to do with some third party who install it.

I’ve told them I need to know by 10:00 tomorrow as I can’t keep booking time off work to be at home for them, but they just don’t seem to give a shit.

Frustratingly I’m backed into a corner as going with someone else may take longer and is likely to be more expensive (as my complaints for previous arsing around have led to me being offered quite a good deal). But now I just want to sack it off tbh.

Has anyone else had this experience with them or am I just unlucky?

Luckily*, we have no cable here on the windy heights of WS12.

Surgery has fouled up my repeat prescription yet again. They only have one task, but seem unable to do it. They've had a year to co-ordinate all this type of thing. Still, at least it's not a life-threatening situation.

You're luck, wife's friend's mother has hers delivered. She's nearly 90, didn't notice they had sent somebody else's. Critical in hospital.

I believe one of the most common ways to crack a tooth is hydraulic action when you squeeze food into a hole in the tooth, the pressure builds & splits the tooth. I cracked one on something daft like a bacon sarnie once.

I had a similar experience with repairs rather than installation, four cancelled appointments - as in they were showing on the system the night before, take a look in the morning and they've vanished. The last one I even sat up until midnight and watched it vanish between 23:59 and 0:00

Phoned them up and just wasted as much time as possible of theirs until they agreed higher than normal compensation, got £50 out of them although that took half a dozen calls and involved a delightful woman calling me a liar at one point... Made it clear I was noting everything down, names and times, asked them to repeat everything.

Essentially they're scum but they get away with it by being cheap scum.

You could call them out by just cancelling, but they probably know full well whether or not you've got an alternative provider in your area and if they know they're your only option may very well play you at your own game.

Just think... if they put as much effort into actually trying to provide a good service...

I often think about that with a lot of the criminals you read about, they work very hard to rip people off for often very little profit and then go to prison. Just work an honest job.

Oh Arsebiskits - lovely week on the slopes with little ETG - although couldn't get online banking to work so big sorry to Duncan. 330 is now paid for dude - just did it. Detracted from a fantastic friends type holiday and general feelgood sporty type week of actual effort.

Of course I had to screw it up - back yesterday - email today - I forgot the bloody passports! Hopefully they'll post them sharpish - or I'm screwed for travelling to collect/move anything until I get mine back! I'm an idiot!!!!

Whereabouts did you go?  I thought you Schengenians could go pretty much anywhere in Europe with no docs?

(Mildly jealous - I used to love skiing - can't do it any more due to knackered leg.)

This Merc came up for sale recently.

For a long time (since about 2008) I've been spotting and admiring this about Manchester, particularly down the side of a certain bar that I recently found out the owner was known locally for being a sex pest, however a while ago the Merc disappeared. Then as a courier, I started spotting it regularly in the same place in a residential area. Knew it was the same car, as how many '70s S classes are about central-ish Manchester in light green, two number reg etc?

Said S-class was up for sale recently, turns out aforementioned sex pest bar owner also died recently.

These facts all have to be related and I feel a bit grim as a result.

That requires about 4 people to each make a mistake. Including the patient. I have nothing but hope for the poor lady which I send with haste.

Two people I suspect, assuming the pills weren't labelled for her.

The delivery driver & the patient.

Don't stress fella - the useless arses here couldn't find anything. That'll mean Francois liked the look of it and it's being worn somewhere in Belgian Post sorting office somewhere - or they' ve just lost the sodding thing. - I used to work for them on their international sorting systems - so know the disaster zone it is! Cunts - the lot of them.

Szklarska Poreba - not far over the Polish border from Dresden. Nice little resort and loads for the kids as extra curriculars - local Crystal manufacturer does tours - which may end soon as they are facing impending doom. Hot spas were fantastic and the local town is great for everything - plus - cheap as chips for anything/everything.

Understand your pain - my knee hates me - a few days/week to recover - then off with the lads n dads tour to Tyrol in 6 weeks. I sadly do actually live with a yolo attitude though - so prefer to get my sh*t done and enjoy the days I have.

Haven't seen any update on the Lancia lately - how is the little gem. Personally i think THAT is the best auction purchase I've seen you make...…….

Lancia is doing OK actually - it's being used sparingly at the moment as I won't take it out when the roads are salty.  Took it for a drive over the New Year weekend and it was playing up, spluttering and farting about, but did 15 miles in it last weekend and it was fine - think it'd just got damp in in from standing.  Still no HRW or rear wiper though - I can't fathom the tailgate electrics at all, although I did get the tailgate locking (but not unlocking) on the central locking.  It also has a dodgy contact on the nearside main beam which tends to flicker over bumps, so that needs looking at at some point.

Overall still proper chuffed with it though - it really is hilarious fun to drive on the right road.

If you're ever in this neck of the woods on a collection mission (or you just fancy making a pilgrimage to Roys of Wroxham) you're welcome to come and take it for a blat.

More likely to just be the spring rather than the bottom arm.

Yes, spring, broken near bottom and droped, nearly took out brake hydraulics and abs.

If I had just chopped out the bolts for the drop link, instead of trying to undoo everything, I'd have saved three hours of swearing.

Tomorrow, hopefully I'll get it back together.

Looking at load covers for the W203 estate on eBay and there's one quite cheap, but I can't figure out what colour it is - it might be grey, or it might be black photographed under a bright light.

Asked the seller and got a reply back within a couple of minutes.

"I don't know what colour it is."

I won't be buying it then.

The sudden down turn in the image of the woodburner for home heating - I'm sure it's a government funded operation to make sure nobody is able to access fuel that isn't taxed or controlled by them.

<tin foil hat off>

Will be fitting another villager one into the new house, hopefully one with a back boiler.

Don't know what you're moaning about, tbh. Since drawing a watch on my wrist with a ballpoint pen I've been living on biroed time.
