May I politely draw people's attention to the News 24, Grin, Grump, Stupid Question Amnesty, Lazy Spotters and pinned Communal For Sale threads for things that are just posts rather than major points of conversation.

 

At the risk of sounding like Milford Cubicle/Leonard Hatred, all the dross just makes this site look like a beige version of Twitter or Facebook, while the real threads vanish on to page 4 in half a day.

I ordered a part-worn tyre off eBay for the Forester, ready for its MOT on Wednesday.  It turned up today - it's only a fucking van tyre.  I was all ready to get pissed off with the seller as I checked the listing and it didn't say anything about it being a commercial tyre.  Went into my purchase items, and lo and behold it says quite clearly "205/70R15C".  Look again as I'm quite sure I checked.  Realise the seller had two tyres the same size for sale at the same price, one van, one not.  Guess what I'd done?

Virgin the useless phone twats cocked up Ma's PAYG and didn't renew her interweb bundle. Ma you will have to phone them and get them to fix it. Simples!

 

Nah, lot better to have the arse on all day long with me, cos I is somehow responsible, and so I should phone them and sort it despite the fact using phones gives me major terror. Got to 6pm and I couldn't take it any more, so I phoned the twats. Big surprise they won't talk to me 'cos it's not my account. Virgin being useless phone twats send a text: Your 1 gb data bundle for £0.00 has been activated. To most people getting the bundle and not being charged £10 for it would be good news. Ma still has face on that she will have to pay for calls and texts. I may* have made it worse by pointing out the fact that if she didn't reply to every single inane text my idiot sister sends with 'ok' she would save eleventy million pounds.

Meant I had to use my housemates 59-plate Festa to get to work.

 

Running a 25 year old classic as a lone daily does not appear to be tenable.

 

Anyone got a cheap diesel daily to offer? Preferably in the South West, and preferably estate shaped.

Peugeot 206 hdi estate ? It has a cat C for a light rear end shunt and the EML on for the egr valve. It is on a 54 plate and I have been using it as my daily driver for about 8 months including a trip to Paris with no issues. It has had a recent cambelt and clutch £650 Just off the M5 in Wellington
