My clock doesn't work if my ovens not on, which is why I'm always late for work. At least I always turn up with a steak bake in my hand.

Is your oven on a separate trip switch?

Last night and this morning I had a sore throat, then after lunch I started feeling a bit dizzy and over tired so managed to get sent home from work. Got home went to sleep but not before I got a call from work as the were worried about the puddle of oil my car left. Woke up a few hours later to a seriously sore head, sore joints and even some stomach acid came to join the party.

Feeling better now but only just. Also, I'm sure I wrote and posted this earlier...

Problem solved, as suggested by Mr Pillock.

Just got Mrs_Outlaw to set the clock; she's not a brain-surgeon, but somehow manages to do it every six months ("I don't know what I did, I just pressed the buttons") and now it works!

Sometimes, I wonder what happened to my brain.

I blame my old Renault 4's leaky exhaust, poisoning the grey matter. (27 years ago).

My mate's 2010 Berlingo 1.6 diesel taxi has shit itself and lunched it's engine. Quotes so far are £5000 (five thousand quid!) I assume that's for a new one, £3,000 for a second hand one and £2,000 for a reconditioned one. He says all those prices are without the fitting charges on top.

id be buying another - lots of 2010 on ebay for 4-6k

Have you set the clock? Women don't tend to work unless you set the clock.

I've never posted in this thread before, but last night some thieving scrote decided to try and pinch my discovery from outside my house. In doing so, they have trashed the locks, the steering column, a good chunk of the dashboard wiring and nicked the radio. They appear to have been beaten by the crappy factory immobiliser.

I've just been outside to remove 2 wheels and put it on axle stands to prevent them coming back tonight for another go. As I kneeled down to put the jack under the back axle, I find my head torch and one of my screwdrivers lying in a pool of diesel under the tank. It appears that when they were beaten by the immobiliser, they've pinched my torch and one of my screwdrivers from out of the car, stabbed a hole in the bottom of the plastic fuel tank and pinched 80 litres of diesel that i'd just put in it on Monday. Whatever they didn't manage to take has just been left to soak into the gravel in my parking area.

I live in a rural area with virtually no crime (until now) and this just feels like a personal intrusion. I must have been lucky never to have suffered car crime until now.

I'll be getting some BFO security lights I think, then look at building some form of barn / garage to keep my motors in.

I now have a crime number

Unfortunately, given the unique way the police is currently funded, that may well be all you get...  :(

That's utterly shit ghaydock. Do the police care at all?

They won't, trust me.

That is a serious grump there haydock, what utter bastards and I know I shouldn't but I instantly thought pikeys.

That really sucks. Hope you can get it sorted.

I'm affraid that like burgled houses, you will never feel quite the same way about it again.

Essdeewon - you iz a racist. ;-)

Yep, the holed fuel tank suggests the origin of the culprits

It's properly shit but nothing to do with politics. The police wouldn't have been interested in this ten years ago, ask me how I know!

I suspect that sadly they may have shown a lot more interest if I was driving it at 35mph in a 30 limit

1.6 HDi presumably? There is a thread on here about how doomed those engines/turbos are: http://autoshite.com/topic/19973-16hdi-engine-strip-pix-and-report-following-turbo-falure/?hl=1.6hdi

My 4 yr old 40,000 mile 1.6HDi was on its fourth turbo despite being properly serviced. Most new Royal Mail vans are 1.6 HDis' and therefore doomed.

Parking.

Round here there is a real problem as every person in the whole wide world uses this road to abandon their heaps of shit on. Several cars up this road are just parked for months at a time. Some are not taxed, insured or MOT'd and even though I have got all nimby and reported them repeatedly, nothing happens. One guy has a 54 Scenic that looks like he dragged it out of a hedge, didn't bother even washing it or replacing the smashed passenger window and drives it frequently now and tows a trailer with it. Not taxed, insured or MOT'd...

How do they get away with it?

I know that if my car goes one day over on any of the three I'll be up in court and sent to prison for five years!

Oh yes, and just, finally, had the okay for my disabled bay to be put in - £345.30 for the privilege, oh, and you'd better guard that spot with your fucking life until the contractors come round and do it 'cos if you don't and there is something else parked there when they turn up out of the blue, they will decline to do it and you go to the back of the queue! No idea when they will come:sometime in the next four weeks but, as the weather is nice, possibly within two weeks.

Had a powercut in and around the area of Outlaw_Towers at about 11am this morning. No idea how long etc, but i've come home from work and the clock on the oven and the alarm clock are both flashing. No worries.

But the main oven, which I used at 7am to heat up a pie (for breakfast, I R CLOSET NORTHERNER), now won't work.

Fuck and sticks.

Who can I sue?

Shit. I am in Stockholm at the moment and if this affected my house then my stupid alarm would have been going ten to the dozen as a result. Looking forward to getting home tomorrow to a smashed up alarm box on the floor and many messages of Ill intent from usually decent neighbours.

On subject of Stockholm, disappointing lack of shite around apart from a shoddy Polo I saw yesterday

Don't put it up too high, or they'll back for the cat.

A breakfast pie you say? Sounds like the future to me!!

In the last 2 years two of my brothers had their Disco's stolen by pikeys. They use them to nick other stuff then dump them after they've finished with them. Both got them back with relatively minor damage, one had the windows "Gipsy tinted" ie they'd painted the rear windows so the Old Bill can't see what's in the back, apparently in this case a few hundred litres of some poor sods Red.

A neighbour almost lost his V8 last summer but after rolling it down the road the factory immobiliser again saved the day.

Further update, things are becoming clearer. My trailer which is hidden in the back field in some bushes has had the hitch lock cut off it. It looks like the plan was to use the disco to nab the trailer

Old Bill will be little help sadly.

You will, however, get a 'nice' letter from Victims Support.........
