The grumpy thread

What is weird is I’ve been in the garden nearly all morning and no reactions at all today. It’s just as warm, and I finished off the mowing I abandoned yesterday. Grass doesn’t normally set me off as I used to mow a sports field and cricket square.

I mowed both lawns yesterday and my eyes were itching like fuck afterwards.  Mind you there were a lot of flowers in amongst the grass.

at the very best most stop the eyes itching but don't stop the incessant sneezing.

I'm suffering badly with hayfever too. Taking some Tesco Hayfever And Allergy Relief 10 mg tablets but they seem to have little affect. :( 🤧

Get yourself some Fexofenadine from the docs, they will prescribe over the phone for hayfever.

Brilliant stuff, makes me mega tired though.

Slept like shit. Been up since 03:50.

Just been watching YouTube.

Have had to constantly fight the urge to slap the Mrs' arse whilst she's sleeping.

Hay fever and temperatures above 25 make winter and 20 below seem nice and preferable.

WHY DOES NOTHING JUST FUCKING WORK???????????

"New and Improved" as a genuine concept, died about 50 years ago in a minibus crash along with most of his family: Common Sense, Common Decency, Manners, Morality and Fairness.  It's believed Courage was driving but he has never recovered enough to talk about it.

No, however for me it stops my hayfever but I get a bit tired!

I've been taking it for quite a few years and I'm no dozier now than when I started. Maybe I'm an outlier but I haven't had any of those reactions to it.

As someone said earlier it's almost a generic list that could be applied to many drugs.

Washed my sons car and then checked the lights and levels before the mot. Turned up for the mot with the oil filler cap off and oil everywhere under the bonnet.oil filler cap sitting next to oil can in the shed luckily.
Will try again tomorrow.

Plusgas. Need a new tin, only locals listing it are Screwedfix. Nil stock. Checked the Plusgas website, they have distributors all round my area - but all Screwedfix. Emailed Plusgas to have a moan, apparently stock is due into the uk mid July. Brilliant planning.

That's what happens when you outsource production of absolutely everything to a foreign country to save 20p per unit.

And why companies are 'reshoring' production.

In my limited experience through the industry I recently left, it only seems to be attractive if they can get UK manufacturers into working to similar unit prices as the Chinese manufacturers.

Excuse the halfrauds link, but I found this stuff great for releasing seized fasteners (I’m assuming that’s what you wanted plusgas for?!):

Not in my opinion, Covid showed up the vulnerability of long supply chains.

Yes, exactly! I was going for the WD40 specialist penetrant but I'll take your recommendation and give that a try, thanks. (It's also £3.60 cheaper)

I always thought “new and improved” was ad speak for “ok, we admit it was pretty shite before, now it’s a bit less shite”.
My rugby club ( like most), had a “most improved player of the year” award at the annual dinner. The recipient was always told by everyone “just shows how bad you were last year!”

That's just reminded me of what my mother did to my old work boots when they finally gave up after about 20 years...

I'm grumpy because over the last 2 weeks my wallet has been continually raped by things failing. First my Invertor Charger went tits skyward, £500, then my injector pump followed, £500. then I needed new start batteries, £200, then a blow out, tyre £245, then the alternator, got a new one, no good out of the box, £236. I'll have to send the dud one back but meanwhile had to get another one, £175. Ffs. I'm well pissed off. Grrrrrr and stuff!!
