There's something like 20,000 Morris Minors taxed or SORN and 1300 Rover 600s. Speaks volumes when you consider the age differences.

What the sweet fuck is wrong with motor factors these days. Gone round a few trying to get plug leads. They all want a reg plate. I have said numerous times to them you have leads on a hook there. Can't you just match it up. No apparently computer won't allow it. Found one though. Took a lead off the volvo and said any of these. He came back with multiple boxes until he found a match. That's how it used to be.

ecp have a set listed for an ovlov

But I got classic insurance on my Frontera 3 years ago when it was only about 22 years old??

See the 'there is now' comment. Things have changed since 3 years ago.

Or just give him your actual reg

That's my point. Everywhere I went wanted to order a set in matched to my reg when they had leads hung up.

Even the owners don't want to actually drive Minors?

I count myself lucky with the place Ive used for many years, they are old school guys who have alot of knowledge, one of the guys used to run a factors that my dad used back in the day, I can't sing their praises high enough, think a few local stoke shiters use them as well, Smithsons in normacot just opposite minimine

All it needs is someone with common sense. I told 1 in particular that I can see leads hung up and his computer will say no.

Looks like the owner of the dog and liable party in the accident last month is attempting to wriggle out of having their insurance pay out for the Volvo.

This is going exactly as well as I expected, which will leave me skinted, I will probably end up selling the V70 to a breaker to recoup something from this mess.

I had to put a fucking reg in to get 2 cans of brake cleaner from euro car parts...

I can clearly see the mistake you made.

If we had a decent car place locally I would. But we don't, the place we have would sell a can for £11.99 not £2.50....

Had the Clio diesel for a month now, and I've somehow racked up 1000 miles. It's running as well as ever and sips fuel (400 plus miles to 38 litres) but I'm getting bored of it. I have agreed a swap for something else but if that doesn't happen I'm not sure what I want instead.

Go small-claims on his worthless ass.  Who had the linky recently for the online process?

Given my Savvy appeared on no Factors 'search on reg'.

I had two regs (off Gumtree) for those cars which had [generic] same/compatible parts.

It worked.... :)

Same when I went in recently and asked for a cylinder head gasket for a blue van, they were not helpful at all....

My ecpe won't honour online discounts in store. For the volvo exhaust I had to ring them, they ordered it in then I ordered it online next day. Worked OK as can't see anyone else wanting a 1400 volvo 340 exhaust in the time frame

They fucked up brake discs for the meriva as expected once. Had to refund in store, but they couldn't match the online with code price so I had to go back outside, reserve on my phone, have a smoke and wait for their system to update (to be fair the guy poked his head out and beckoned me when he saw it) then pay it again!

I use a local independant - if my request lists two different types of part he gives me both as long as one comes back.

He is very reasonable and only uses mann/purflux/unipart filters.

I have no need for ecp.

I cannot praise Midway Motor Parts in Ludlow highly enough.

Likewise Lloyd's garage, Stourport on Severn.

Both places have helpful, knowledgeable staff who have common sense

Ludford parts, Ludlow can you just burn down please. Unhelpful bums work there

I was impressed at the fit of the exhaust. I was expecting a pair of brake drums for a 1999 mitsubishi gallant
