One stand out grump from last night was fucking cocktails. I got bored after 20 minutes of waiting for a Guinness, watching the 2 people make fucking cocktail after cocktail. Nipped out, over the road to another pub, got served straight away, came out 'for a smoke' and ran back over the road and back in with my pint.

I have the opposite problem with H4 headlights, end up switching them off when driving (very briefly!) just to convince myself that they're actually on.

Or coffees where they spend hours fannying around with the machine or sprinkling chocolate powder on it whilst I’m waiting for a pint. The pubs I go in don’t waste resources on stuff like that, if it’s sometging exotic you want a Bacardi Breezer had better suffice.

Forgot about flipping coffee! Wasn't my choice of establishment, but having been on a mini pub crawl whilst waiting for everyone to show up I did as I was told

Works Christmas do's, or more specifically my Wife's works Christmas do, go to a nice 4* country hotel, sit down to eat a meal with a hundred fairly interesting people then have a fucking DJ and music that loud so you can't even have a fucking conversation with someone sat next to you, just what is the fucking point? I've left her there as I really can't be fucking arsed to sit in a room being forced to listen to shit xmas songs and have some cunt scream and shout down a microphone whilst trying to get everyone to do the fucking conga, just fuck off.

Well said my man. I just can't understand why dj's insist on doing this. The last time I encountered this stupidity was my BIL 60th party in a smallish room. Despite several requests to turn it down, he kept cranking it up. If it had been my party I'd have thrown him out or lumped him. In the interests of family peace, I left.

 

F*** every stupid dj everywhere.

It's weird really, we have such a tiny country yet you can have such extreme differences in weather over small distances.

Here it's gale force winds and heavy rain. Yet if I drive a few miles north of here it's laying snow! The last time I saw snow must have been a good 7 or 8 years ago! All it ever does here is fucking rain.

It's snowed (about 1/4") on the M25 on the hill where it says GIVE PEAS A CHANCE on the bridge.

It's at a standstill.

The bottom of my garden has about 1 inch water over it! The rains been coming in sideways most of the day so far.

I hate rain, and water with a passion yet it's all the weather we ever get down here!

It's quite weird, we've got enough snow that eldest_pillock_child has had to phone in to work; the police were quite proactive in going on social media and saying "look, we really strongly recommend you stay at home and have a cup of tea unless you've got a suitable vehicle and know how to drive it. Here's a photo of a Hilux in a ditch to help you understand" (paraphrased but accurate). It's not a massive amount, maybe 4 inches, but it fell on frozen ground on a really quiet night so it just compacted and polished as cars went over it rather than turning to slush.

 

5 miles up the road, it's had a light dusting and everything is fine.

It's snizzling here, meant to get a bit heavier for a couple of hours then pack it in totally about 5pm.

At least the shitty Hampshire rain will wash all the shitty Hampshire salt down the drains.   Almost gave the Cowley a nice sunny run yesterday - only the realisation that the mileometer had gone over the "safe" limit for the broken fuel gauge stopped me.   Halfway down the M27 in glorious sunshine and bone dry asphalt I was a bit "meh should have brought it out".  

 

Luckily my inner sense prevailed - I was shotblasted three times by gritter lorries on the way back - even when I moved out in the 3rd lane.

Bugger all snow in Donny, just a like dusting that seems to be giving up already :(

 

Plenty in Brum & plasticvandan land earlier though. It was quite amusing to watch all the retards who can't drive making hard work of it all. Two dawdling tossmuppets on the A44? that got overtaken seemed to have a fit  when I went past at 50ish & they were pretending it was 15-20mph weather...

I can report the traction control in a Saab is unsurprisingly quite good in snow, as the idiots on SUV 4x4s stuck on roads in Brum saw when I drove past them uphill :D

The Yamaha is my office. My mobile office spends most of its time in London. I live in Ipswich. I'm self employed. Quite a bit of snow on the roads. Looks like no work for me tomorrow.
