Edit kids sorted, there's no space to move it to on a jack either.

Could you not get a couple of mates together and bounce it out of the way?  Ideally just bounce one end round so it's parked across the road - plod will soon HIAB it then.

Every guide I've ever read on building bathrooms (& I read a few when restoring a cottage) says plasterboard in a bathroom should either be waterproof or tanked with waterproofing compound. You could get a leaflet from Wickes to prove this point, they don't have a leg to stand on.

If it is a shower they should be using cementitious board like Hardie board or Aquapanel. It sounds like they have done the job as cheap as possible.

The absolute minimum for just trimming around a bath would be sealant and using waterproof tile adhesive in a continuous layer.

 

As far as the law or court case, I think you have done all you could be expected to do before taking it to court.

It usually carries no weight but it will ruin their day and one self-appointed guardian of legislation they haven’t a clue about (but which saves them from doing what they are paid to do) who goes home thinking they might get fired has to be a good thing.

These things. They're not proper Haynes manuals. They don't actually explain how to diagnose faults with the warp drive in the starship enterprise, or how to change the regulator valve on the flying Scotsman or whatever. They're just like a very long Wikipedia entry.

We will doubtless retain GDPR. I have a lot of former customers who are in denial (or trap 3) about it and I’m getting a call a week about coming out of retirement to sort out the corporate knicker knots they seem to be tying for themselves.

 

Data Protection was always a stupid name anyway. The very definition of ‘data’ is that it needs shape, form and context to turn it into ‘information’ at which point it acquires value.

I think half the companies in the U.K Don't know about or are ignoring gdpr. Dangerous when the fine is a % of your turnover especially if youre a car dealer who has big turnover but low margin .

Car gone now so no hiabing photos, woman shifting it looked to be well distressed already so didn't push it. Would have felt really bad if it turned out she had had a death or similar.

 

Got out and dropped off a load of bits, no chance to load anything up on my own though. Plus the van ran out of LPG and I had to run on the year old petrol in the tank.

 

Tomorrow mornings work is fucked now though

 

Contrary to popular post apocolyptic fiction petrol is still ok after a year even if untreated.

Anyway, to stop the bickering, I've a tale to tell. Yes, I've been out on another job with the bus this week and visited such wonderous places such as Redditch, Skipton and Milton Keynes.

Last day today with an evening event outside the front of what was once called GMEX or Central Station, in Manchester of course. A surprise early finish make me eschew the pre booked travelodge for the night for a 3 hour jaunt back to base and then my own bed (with hot and cold running wife). A stop at keele services for fuel. What's that? It's water pouring out the back. A closer inspection revealed a failed water pump and many litres of coolant freely flowing onto the road below.

Bollocks.

Limp back the wrong way along the services to the coach bays, which are full of not coaches and find a space for recovery.

Recovery won't be out till the morning.

Costa del back of bus then for me tonight instead of either my own bed or the hotel that was booked for me.

Had a lovely birthday yesterday, booked on the Flying Scotsman charter train Ely to Norwich. The Flying Scotsman broke down earlier in the day at Peterborough so it was replaced by a diesel locomotive.

 

Now this was disappointing but old vehicles break, can't be helped, just one of those things.

I know i have a high tolerance to pain killers but I honestly thought I'd get some relief with morphine, not so. Just spent a long nice not being able to sleep due to back pain and feel as grumpy as hell. Plus just tried to have my morning piss and can't manage it. If this doesn't rectify itself I'll be going down A+E later as this is a red flag. Specialist has told me the next op will be a support cage around my lower spine and can't say I'm looking forward to having this done at all.
