If the seats are designed to be removable as a feature of the car then is it still declarable if they’re taken out?

I think it’d be a very grey area, if someone was for example a gardener and had a Citroen Picasso so removed the detachable seats and used it as a van for business, I think it’s fair to say most insurers would want to have it declared as a permanent modification.

I know there are some insurers that are stupidly anal, if you speak to the right people it should be no real issue at all but it’s also very case dependent I’d say.

Isn't that just a standard Kangoo with the rear seat missing?  It hasn't got a lowered floor.

Yep - not a converted van, no lowered floor/ramp, uncut rear bumper, standard doors etc.  Straightforward van.  You might want to investigate boot hoists for a scooter/wheelchair as an alternative to a converted van.  Unless you need one converts have some significant drawbacks - small fuel tanks for 1 (mines 20 litres!)

Power steering pump is stuck but may throw belts with use - fixed that wording for him.

There was a time when i had a 2nd gen and then 3rd gen camaro that i really  hated these, but thats cheap enough and these days i'd probably give it a go

Its the fact its modified, your typical mainstream insurers like Churchill, Direct Line etc will flat out refuse to cover most mods, whereas specialists like where I work will actually often offer a reduced premium with modifications.

I can confirm that. I part exchanged my Saab 9-5 2.3 Turbo for 5 year younger 9-5 Aero HOT with a bigger turbo, intercooler, injectors and throttle bodies, stainless exhaust, remapped ECU, lightweight wheels, larger brake discs and 6 pot calipers, suspension changes, and upgraded stereo.

Was £50 a year LESS to insure (with Sheilas Wheels) than my standard 9-5.

It's on the govt. tax/MOT checker thing.

Look at this sexy little bastard. Relatively high miles, no MOT and advisories for rust on the last one.

Vauxhall Astra F | eBay

£371/best offer, Liverpool.

*Just realised it's a diesel. I think it's probs too late to be an Isuzu, so possibly the GM 'slow-blow' lump. In fact, weren't all the 'TDS' ones GM engines?

I thought the Isuzu ones had a sexy* TURBO INTERCOOLER badge on the back (my Dad's did) but that might be a pre-facelift thing only.

Yes that's a Jodie Comer among motor cars, sexy AF.

Isn't the starter packing up the first sign of DMF failure on these?

Yep, happened on Outlaw_Junior's one.

My fault obviously

This went for a smidge over £600 last night. I was mildly interested but missed the auction end as I was looking at summat else.
I think £600 is a snip - I'm a bit rankled but, to be honest, I don't really need another estate here without swapping the 940 (and I do like that)

Colour change, tinted windows, removal of rear seats

It's registered as green so presumably that has already been declared.  Tinted windows are presumably just film which should be easy enough to rip off.

Colour is still a modification whether DVLA have been notified or not. My T5 says green on the V5 but it’s still not the colour it left the factory as, thus it’s modified, same with my old Transit.

C5 which the lady says has a clutch slipping - £600 starting bid, no LHM model
Nope - hang on - she's literally just updated the listing clutch is now fucked and the starting price is down to £450. Prior to this update I asked her about service history etc and she said there is a part history and cambelt done two years ago.

I can't believe that any underwriter would refuse to cover a car solely because it's a different colour to what it was when it left the factory.  That just makes zero sense.
