Bloody lovely- who was the shiter of yesteryear who had one of these? That was a brilliant project thread.

There’s been a couple - @skattrd was probably the one you’re thinking of, and I’m very sad to see he’s not visited here since last summer.  Thread:

Breadvan had one too, sold fairly recently. I had a go of that one: it was great fun in a Tonka sort of way but as agricultural as you’d expect.

Delightful. Everyone should try a Daf so that we can all agree that the gearboxes are a wondeful curiousity but ultimatley not that fun on a daily basis.

It's depressing how far Arrow prices have gone up in the last few years.  Seems like only yesterday a scruffy Hunter like that would have been a 500 quid car.  I like them but I'm not paying those prices for one...

There's a Hunter GLS on C&C at the moment for 25 grand. Bonkers.

Have we had this? 657cc 3 cyl automatic, 36k miles, £1250

I think it's way too expensive, but can definitely recommend them as a total hoot. I paid €150 for mine with 12 months test!

I'm pretty sure the UK market Altos (Alti?) of that generation were 800cc rather than the Kei-spec engine.

That one also doesn't have a V5. Seems to be lost as to who actually is the registered person. I wouldn't bother, I asked the seller and he wasn't interested in getting a V62 sorted for it so that's a bit of a red flag for me.

That’s right! Apologies. The 657 figure is the engine capacity for a Suzuki Cappuccino - not sure how or why I mixed those up.

I think my logbook says 796cc.

That’s been relisted every single day for about the last five months, it’s always near the top of one of my ‘newly listed’ saved searches. Goodness knows what’s going on there.

Well you know how to stop that happening, don't you?  Grand Thrift Auto is severely lacking in 1980s Japanese automatic hatchbacks with non-pop-up headlights.

(Although if I was selling a car as "mint", I'd probably go to the trouble of getting a rattle can of matt black from Poundland and tidying up the wiper arms.  And making them park parallel.)

Still remember the first time I drove one of these, thought I was Terry Ten Bollocks.  It was a 4 banger so a bit slow, but sounded great and made you feel like king of the road after a Transit.  Obvs that badge lets it down a lot mind.

I'm with you there Billy!  My first day on a new job I had to take one of these from Southport to Preston, at 3am, with nobody else in the yard.  That was fun...  G150DKC was a six-banger 130, which I think should be about 5.9 litres?  It could go some, certainly!  I often used it for a delivery round in Blackpool, and coming back to Preston it would fly.  I have, naturally, a Corgi Royal Mail Cargo painted up to match... ;)

ETA: I also have a front grille off this model which I was planning to use as a wall ornament in my back yard.  Free if a Shiter can collect...

1996 Fiat Punto GT turbo (GT2)

134k

Mot til November

Virtually standard (stainless exhaust and 30mm springs)

Drives perfectly and no known issues

Drives really well, it’s standard power, standard boost and this is how it should be left, Iv owned high power puntos and to be honest this just drives much nicer how it is and it’s still quick, surprises a lot of other cars on the road

Lots of service history inc timing belt about 5k miles ago inc a cylinder head rebuild

Will need small amount of welding on the passenger sill to floor for the next mot (I have photo & video showing this)

Available from feb 27th as I’m using it until then

That wall unit will empty itself on the floor after 5 minutes. I'd dig that if the shit cliche graphics were emulsioned over  and the fucking bunting set fire to.

Phoar! That's well fit, I'm not about to throw that amount at one anytime soon but I'm sure it'll find a buyer though.

Thanks @somewhatfoolish

Being pedantic (unlike me I know), the turbocharged 50s (and derivatives) were actually slower top end than the NA version - the turbo Phaser was governed to 2,600rpm, the non-turbo could rev to 2,800.
