Oh, hold on. FFS

Okay, it's been painted the worst colour known to man, but was it least a high-quality professional job from a decent classic car restorer?

Oh, never mind

Having not studied the history of the Anglican church, I assume a crusade was an excuse to steal off or kill other people using religious beliefs as an excuse. ?

A crusade is different to The Crusades.

The fact the Cortina had a Crusader soldier sticker on it and that Henry Ford was a famous racist and an inspiration to Hitler, I suspect the Ford U.K. marketing team were targeting Daily Express readers rather than Randy Crawford fans with this.

More to the point, The Crusades predated the Anglican church by several hundred years.

In the late 1970's early 80's I was a Member of The Crusaders group at our local Methodist cult/church.

Until I lost my religion circa 1981 age 14.

It seems they are still going.  Probably a good thing they changed the name.

Lost mine around the same age, but about 7 years earlier. My families version of the cult was Assemblies of God Pentecostal. My attempt at speaking in tongues when I was 10 was celebrated as though I had just achieved a masters degree.

I loved my parents, but they were totally deluded, and left me completely unprepared for adult life in the real world that everyone else lives in.

They did mean well though.

How did we get from ebay to here ? 😁

Go for it, I've had 4 of them in the past. Still got some spares kicking around.

A very nice drive. Bit fragile in old age - but so am I.

Someone spotted this over the weekend and posted it on @trigger's excellent East Coast Retros facebook page - and it really piqued my interest.  It's for sale 3 miles from my parents, it's a local Ipswich car with HDX suffix to match my Mini.  My parents nearly always had a japanese car on fleet, and we were regulars at Carrs Honda in Ipswich - trudging around the forecourt once a month to see what had arrived.  In fact, my parents had an earlier bronze Civic.

Two owners.  23,000 on the clock.

I got bored waiting for my Dad to go and speak to the garage owner - so called him up.  Today.  We know the proprietor, he used to service and look after my Nan's Mini back in the 80s.  He wants £2495 for it which, on balance, is probably about right.

I'd dearly love to buy it but it's about £500 more than I'm comfortable paying for it and I don't need 1 car at the moment - never mind 7.

I imagine he only gave the old girl a few hundred quid for it as "it's an old car love" which is a further frustration, but I never resent someone earning a living.  I just wish they'd not to it at my expense sometimes!!!

Anyway - if anyone's serious (he'll not welcome being fucked about) then it's at Brands Garage in Trimley.

...and now flipped by a whiteroom dealer at over twice the price.

I love these but the v8's would give a Concorde a run for it's money fuel consumption wise.

He's done 12 arty shots but none that show the car up close. No interior, no engine bay. He's basically done his own calender.
