Back in the Day, I had a few conversations with an applications engineering manager at Garrett. 

Once he said.  Yeah hybrid Turbos.  Big compressor wheel, small turbine wheel, high boost, lots of fuel.  Yeah. You can get lots of power.  Not for long.  

Which is why we generally don't bother, as most customers ( car companies)  want us to prove they can run at full boost for 1000000 miles not 10. 

I don't know why people think they know better than the experts.

I've always fancied one of these.  Watchlisted, obvs; can we all please refrain from bidding so the price stays at a level I can justify?  Once I get it into use there will be a cheap Volvo available...
