A 169,000 mile MOT expired Vauxhall Corsa that's been used as a builder's car and it's in a field. In Blackpool.

WCPGW?

Cute, drove a couple decades ago. A M8 has one

A guy I went to school with had one exactly like that as a reward/gift from his parents after passing his Scottish Highers exams in our fifth year at secondary (1979). It dissolved into rust flakes before we finished the sixth year in 1980 (nobody else in our year had their 'own' car - he was, maybe, a bit spoiled)
It was replaced by a Z600 *(?) in a bright orange colour that we all called a 'Bond Bug with enough wheels to go around.' I think that died on a wet night up in Edinburgh someplace about 1982.
You could fit six of us in either - we were all skinny fuckers back then

*not sure about that model number - if it is right then Googlefoo suggests that was a very rare car - even back then.

6 in a Z600 would be a tight fit! TBH I thought you meant a S600 at first. Scary even 1 up!

Maybole, maybe not ;-)

Twinned with a town in Germany called Scots. Awesome American car dealership there. Maybole has a chippy.

One of our school secretaries had one.

One morning at five to nine she drove into the carpark and left it door open, engine running in the middle of the car park, and ran into the office. A sixth former, (encouraged by peer pressure) got in it and drove it through the carpark and into the bike shed, locked it and took her the keys.  He got a bollocking from the head and she went off sick for a few weeks.

A Riley Kestrel? That's a new one on me - seen a Riley Hornet but not one of these

Wolesley Hornet was Mini sized like the Riley Elf, their ADO16 was given 1100 & 1300 name.

There was an MG version as well. I suppose Mini had Cooper , so an MG version would have been a bit superfluous.

One of my schoolteachers had a Hornet and we always thought the big radiator on the wee car rather amusing. Then she turned up in a Riley Elf, plus ca change

We had almost the opposite - I can recall (in the sixth year) marshalling cars in the main playground for some parent's night or concert thing and a couple of the teachers rocking up and asking "You drive yet?" "Yup" "Here's the keys, drop them in to me later" My 'prizes' were a White Fiat Miafiori 131 and a mustard yellow Ovlov 244. Funny how some things stick in your mind.
