Nope, if anything it's a little loose and fuck knows, whatever the previous owner put in there. List average MPG is about 50 and that's what I was getting, I've put in the manufacturers recommended oil so I see no reason why that would cause it.

I always assumed they expired at midnight, unlike at least some insurance policies that used to expire at 6PM. Or was that just mine?

Have exactly same problem with my ovloV.

Filter is dry, no spots on the driveway. Used to get 400 miles on full tank and only manage 300 now. My pocket hurts.

Does it idle and rev freely like before? If not, check the plug types and gaps. Are the leads pushed FULLY onto the plugs? Brakes binding a bit? Jack up each wheel & see it spins freely. Fuel line leak somewhere?

Not really, it's slow regardless of how you drive it!

It idles and revs better than before, quieter too. Before the service the idle speed would cause a rattle in the door card which stopped afterwards. I changed the plugs from a set of Bosch Super 4's to a set of NGK's that would have been installed at the factory but I don't see how OEM plugs would cause me to get 2-4 MPG less than it should be getting. The 4's were in good condition anyway so I'll lob them back in and see what happens. Doubt it's a fuel leak, timing seems a bit too coincidental and there's no sign of anything under the car even though it sits for 2/3 days very regularly.

This means the mechanics done a good job! How about asking if the car had a fault codes, as this might point you in the right direction. Pop back and have a chat with the mechanic & ask his advice!

I looked into the mirror and asked myself, sadly I couldn't answer myself. Also I'm not entirely convinced that it's an OBD II car, if it is the plug is very well hidden.

open tat thread and ebay ad in seperate tabs

 

right click the image you want and hope it comes up with the option   'COPY IMAGE LOCATION'

 

if it doesn't try opening it full size or in another tab until it does

 

flick back to the tat thread reply box and click the image button,  it's a white square with a bluey grey square inside.  That will open a little window for you to post the URL (image location) into.

 

Huzzah,  you now have a picture. 

 

To make it a link first copy the web address from the top of the ebay page,

 

Now left click on your new picture to select it and click the LINK button (chain with a green +)

 

Paste the ebay address into the box provided,  the picture will turn blue.  Click somewhere else to stop it being blue and preview post to see if it worked.

Check the plugs' resistance. A lot more NGKs are faulty with high resistance from new than they ought to be, these can often go to infinite high resistance after a few hundred miles. Electronic ignition generally masks the effects, but economy suffers.

I made a very mild joke about someone converting to Islam ( joke was about the person converting and not Islam itself ) and it appears to be a dreadful thing to say and I am a dreadful person

 

To set the record straight, I`m am not racist against any Islam or any nation. I like banter and jokes and all people are a target  so long as it`s good natured.  The only major racial stereotype of people that have been a pain in my arse have been bored, well to do middle aged white curtain twitchers who have nothing better to do.

 

I thought part of the fun of this forum is taking the piss out of each other and people.  I have been annoyed by this for a while so any sensible answers?

Don't know to the above. It used to be the norm that everyone took the piss out of everyone else, especially yorkies/lancs, jocks, scousers, londoners.... in fact everyone was fair game. But now it seems we have sensitivity and PC gone mad and it ain't allowed anymore.

We sell a home cooler the same, you fill it with water and it soaks a piece of cardboard(honest) and then a fan pulls air across it.

 

(they come back as people think they are air con units, not at that price, and are disappointed to find it's a sheet of wet cardboard inside.)

I'm not sure, they seem to be empty tin funnels to force the ambient air through the window.

There's possibly the ability to fill with ice or water!
