Nothing saved there unfortunately

Ironically I was doing it because I wanted to update my email address on my profile from my Hotmail to my Gmail one, but to do so I need my password.

Strange that you can auto log in but can't find the password the browser is using.  Has to be there somewhere.

If it is any help in the future, I have all such details on an SD card so when I do a clean install I have them to hand.

Firefox just resynchs but Brave and Chromium synching won't work for me.

The browser being signed in just means that the "Remember me" box was ticked, which sets a cookie.  It doesn't mean that the browser has remembered the password.

I know there was an issue a while ago with a lot of emails from AS to one of the major providers getting blacklisted as spam - though I think that was resolved a while ago.  Hopefully someone with more understanding of the innards of things will be able to assist shortly though.

search function

i was looking for something and searched and found it from 2023

wanted to search earlier and the pages only go back 400 pages on topics

wanted to search for something similar but older and it only goes back to 2020

i was like ah shit - that fucks that

but tried on posts and theres 935 pages and the first post is 2011

why does it do that and am i able at all to go back further than 2020 without trawling thru posts

i know when i want but its still gonna take a while (which i dont mind)

Yep, works better, but that's down to the forum software which, in most respects, excellent. Except for searching

I've never found the search function on here to be brilliant. Googling 'autoshite (whatever)' seems to be the quickest way to find stuff if the search doesn't find it easily.

His email is a iCloud/Apple email address. Unfortunately Apple have blocked the AS server from being able to email to any Apple address. Usually there is a method of having that block removed by most providers. Apple don't offer this and seem to ignore any requests to do so. There isn't much I can do about that.

We also currently have Hotmail and Live email addresses blocked again. I put a request in the other day for that to be removed. I had a reply (from a human!) saying they've put a fix out for it and will take a few days before that percolates through their servers.

I had a PM from someone on here who is in contact with @binhoker668 and hopefully I can get them back on here.

The Hotmail issue I mentioned above is probably what caused this problem for Pieman. 

Looking through it looks like it was lost just before New Year. I missed this message above - probably because I had a nasty sickness bug and was out of it for a good 2 weeks.

Looking at the mail logs, hopefully this is now fixed.

Those affected probably realised this as usually all the emails that got bounced back suddenly get sent in one lump!

I had the same issue with another forum the other day, but by sheer luck managed to guess my password correctly and sorted it out!

I had a member off here send me a few pm messages a while back and I'm pretty sure they have disappeared. If the member who pm'ed me deleted them would the delete out of my inbox? And if so is there anyway to reinstate them?

Either an update on my phone or a change on here - when trying to add images it takes me to files, then I have to go to photos, then camera. Previously it just went straight to my photo reel.

It's also no longer attaching them in the order I select them, which is immensely frustrating!

I haven't got the time or patience to trawl through umpteen pages on here. So can someone tell me why when I upload pics on here the ones I have taken in portrait mode are always on their side?  What do I have to be into prevent it?

I load mine into ACDSee (free version) then save with a different file name. This reduces the size (I know I've been told it's not necessary, but is saves space on my disk), and I can rotate them if necessary. They always end up the right way round then.

Common problem with phone cameras, although I also have a Nikon that does the same.  Happens with several forums.

I load them onto the laptop, open with the image viewer, rotate them 90° then back and re-save them.

We've had a big spike from Singapore and less so Vietnam. I imagine they're not too interested in shite cars from the UK so they can have the "Are you a Human?" prompt like China and Russia do.

Hopefully this will reduce traffic levels and server resource.
