That's worse than Vauxhall's red paint. Our red Jazz of similar age turned dog dick pink, but at least the lacquer didn't peel.

Isn't the Piaggio red as well? No peel on that at all?

It is red! No peel as 1 pack, I think. Oxide fade though, colour-cut bought but not yet applied.

You would think that Vauxhall (or all manufacturers for that matter) would have sorted their paint out by now, mind you it is only a few years newer than a MK4 Astra which can have the same issue, late 90s, early 2000s VW shades of red can suffer from lacquer peel, ask me how I know

Later VW shades of metallic 'orange peel' do ironically peel, as do 'Cayenne orange' colours. Not to mention the dark blue and dark green... and my dark red is beginning to go.

There's hardly any lacquer left on the front of my Volvo. Sometimes when it's windy bits that are left come flying at the windscreen.

@JackThrust that sir, is where it’s had that wing painted at some point and the paint has reacted with the primer, big time.

I know it's not lacquer peel as there was never a clearcoat, but check out the paint fade on this Astra!

That said, the spoiler does appear to have some sort of peeling action going on...

Must be something of this era Ford where the clearcoat goes flakey. Weirdly some panels are worse than others.
