I loved my old Brat.  Wasn't anywhere near as clean as that one though.  In fact I don't think I've seen one that clean outside of a Subaru showroom.

Couldn't find the 'shite dream' thread, but had a 'shite dream' last night that I was posting on here (double shite points) that I was ADAMANT I was going to 'buy a 1960's/1970's double decker bus for use in the summer'. WTF? Made me laugh when the dream finally came back to me later in the day.

Wuv, Throw 250ml of Meths in the tank- binds with the water, and saves the hassle of draining and spluttering. Nice Bike!

it's a lot nicer and more relaxed in this section than over the way in the 'open forum'.

This makes me happy.

I forgot about the existence of the 'open forum'.

This makes me happy.

That's a good trick . Told a few people about doing that and they don't believe me.

Some enduro riders do it before Wet races in case water gets into the fuel while riding.

Started my new job today (not the European one, yet) and it's great. Nice little office job thats very close to home (less than 5 minutes drive) within the same area of Birmingham I live in. Why couldn't this happen a couple of years ago. I reckon I'm gonna try and stick this job until I know whats happening with the Euro job.

^^^ Alcohol mixes with water and with petrol so I suppose it just allows the water and petrol to mix.

Seeing a parrot CKI3000 on facebook for £60 got me thinking about tunez again in the XM.

Currently has the tape player in, and the nice wheel controls.

Playing music from my phone with the tape-aux thing results in unbearable interferance unless I turn my data off on the phone.

I have got about £200 of head unit, adapter cables, dab aerial etc in my ebay watch list, but can't afford it.

However I found this yesterday

I bought it years ago, havent used it in at least 4 though, forgot I had it until I found it last night!

Quick test just now whilst pumping my tyre up confirms it still works, and works well. Can have my phone on the seat/in my pocket and it syncs up to this ok. Not driven yet though to see if the interferance is gone though.

Hopefully this will work enough to do for now, the £60 parrot is cheap but it's an older one that doesnt stream music, which is what I do more than make calls tbh! The mki ones that do music are knocking on £120 themselves, hence why I was going to go all out and get a new dab/sd/bluetooth (no cd!) head unit!

Will roll with it for a bit and see how it goes. Had to find a mini usb cable though, I remember when all my devices were mini, now everything is Micro! If I can get the rear fag lighter working in the XM I could keep this plugged in all the time (cant remember what the battery is like)

little scrotes who drive modified modernz german turbo hatchbacks who obviously dont know much about old motors and sneer at the black 1987 mk4 escort with a big exhaust and no badges when they pull up next to it at the traffic lights leading on to a fast road and attempt to race it when the lights change, then they get their arse handed to them big time, then when you slow down to come off at a slip road it comes past in the outside lane and his mate whos in the car is giving you the thumbs up while the driver looks very gutted and confused at what just happened.

its things like this what make me remember why i like old performance models of mundane motors

Hehe, dropped my £120 Facebook find Corsa B off at the garage a few weeks back and pretty much forgot about it. They've just ring me it's gone straight through the MOT with one advisory for a border line tyre and one for the oil pressure switch which he's going to replace. £50 all in with cost of test!

The heavily modded "200mph+" (according to the optimistic owner) Samara was something else, looked like an absolute deathtrap, I'd like to see how that would fare on a UK MOT!  Despite them being a bit of an old joke in Europe, it's obvious a lot of Russians are rightly proud of their country's automotive products.

Finding around half a gallon of rain water in the rear luggage compartment of the MGF after the recent bouts of heavy rain and after lifting the carpet it was nice to discover,

A... No rust at all.

B... Two rubber grommets thoughtfully placed by Rover.

Removal of B to drain the water has now resulted in a dry boot.

A still stands. No rust at all.

I did start watching it, but the non-car elements (ie most of it) were so annoying that I quit halfway through.

Took 6 car batteries down the local scrap merchants and got £25.92 debited into my bank account.

Worked it out at 32p per kilo. :-D

£25.92 credited to your bank account would have been better, but nice one!
