Highly childish but amusing at the time after several pints, a couple of shorts and some of them there Jager bomb things: text messaging the DJ in the pub last night with various requests for Mike Hunt, J. Arthur Rank and P. Ness. All of which he read out just before playing the cheesy quaver tunes we requested.

Well, CMS and RML turned up to collect the Senator today and seem rather pleased with it so that was a good start to the days proceedings. I took them both for a short spin in the 604 and then sent them on their merry way back up to the land of Porridge.

As the 604 was warmed up and ready to roll I figured it'd be a nice day to take a leisurely cruise over to the Welsh side of the Mersey to visit Mr MM5 and inspect Harold the Herald. Mark's enthusiasm for fixing the spectacular tin worm damage on that made me grin, I thought I had it bad with the 604... Still, nothing a few weeks of grinding and welding won't sort and I'm sure he'll get the exhaust to fit somehow.

All in all, not a bad day. Just got to wait for CMS and RML's road trip report now.

just back from the pub where I saw a Laguna sporting the number plate L46 UNA - with no attempt to make it look like LAGUNA!!

Pete's 604 made me grin. What a classy old thing and easily one of the comfiest places I've ever sat.

Also getting down and back without incident.

Time for a beer!

All for the princely sum of £6.50!.

Bargain! £6.50 would have money well spent just to sit in that cream coloured Bristol single decker. Thing of beauty that.

Wow, that's ace. Look forward to the thread!

When I accidentally find pictures like this, I feel the world is a better place.

Having both the Micra and Rover cleaned and valeted (By me). This'll last in the Micra until the weather changes and/or Ma_Sterling starts collecting old parking tickets/sweet packets/tissues/plastic water bottles and Sis_Sterling + mates fill the footwells full of grass cuttings/stones etc.... I give it a few days.

This is why they are rarely in my car.

Road trip report coming tonight. Probably.

Brief rundown, the Senator behaved impeccably on the way up the road with only two new faults - suspension warning light on constantly in the medium setting and the alternator light comes on very dimly when the headlights are on. Other than that it's a bloody impressive bit of kit, my "what pile of shit have you bought now, Andy?" mates are impressed, and it managed 33.2mpg average on the way home, and used less than half a tank.

Top stuff!

Fiat Punto in for MoT - knew about the two tyres on advisory and the back box blowing badly - but with the back box and centre pipe replaced and two shiny new tyres it has passed at a total bill inc Mot of £220.

BX next week - which will be £140 for new exhaust fitted plus £35 for MoT and it should be a clean bill of health on it. Then it'll be back on the road in May.

Had my phone on silent all day yesterday as I'd forgotten to switch the ringer back on after work on Friday. During the course of yesterday I had five missed calls from a chap who'd called a couple of weeks ago about the BMW. At 15.37 he sent a text saying "please can you ring me back". Then at 17.53 he sent another text which simply said "WANKER !!!". Obviously a stable, reasonable individual then. :D Good job I didn't sell him the car - if it failed its MoT he'd probably have hired a hit man.

Text him back and say that you sold it for a third of the advertised price because he was a mithering wanker.

Montego?

I'd like a look at that from the opposite direction, and a little bit higher angle please. Something is coming to mind, but I want to be a bit more sure....

Looks just like the one I had on an E28 5 series.

Took the VAX to the 604 today. Amazing the difference when the best part of 30 years worth of crud is shampooed from the seats.

Will give it another go tomorrow. The crud on the base of the drivers seat probably won't come out, but it's looking good and smelling a lot better!

Will take pics when the weather improves. It's raining here. I'm beginning to think I'm a rain god. Every time my neighbours see me with a bucket or vacuum cleaner they take their washing in because it will rain.
