Hopefully you don't mind properly breathing in all the fumes whilst cutting through the traffic.

You breathe mostly the same stuff sat in a car or bus, HVAC filters are universally pish at the level of PM10/2.5/verysmallshite.

Happy B***k Friday.

The way this world is going next year the colour will have to be changed.

We had Telly on the telly at work the other afternoon in the mess room.   Cue various managers getting pissed off with everybody calling each other "Saperstein" on the phones.   Nothing like a little in-joke to alienate the twats....

If for some reason you've completely missed the antics of Cold War Motors, then might I suggest starting with their recent Spliceathon series where they effectively save several hopeless old heaps by combining them into one.

Part 1 of this series is here:

One very very stinky, grubby old Hoover. Hot water on the hosepipe, scrubbing brush and suds.

Needs another belt but I've now got a garage vacuum that actually works.

Just sold our camper trailer to a pleasant bloke for more than i paid for it five years ago.  Put it on Craigslist on Wednesday, had a deluge of enquiries but he was first to view, paid the asking in cash with no problems.

Happy and quite surprised to be honest.

I had a mk1 mx5 in my eBay watch list, it ended last night and eBay sent me a message with similar* items I may be interested in. To be fair, it is the same colour :)

JESUS CHRIST A BASE SIERRA. (And Maxi for bonus points.)

I can only make out the GCL so it was a local car to Norwich, just like the Cardinal Base is.

GCL4??Y - who wants to try the 100 possible combinations?

111 combinations ;-)

400 to 499 = 111 combinations??

I just tried 420 - 439 without success, although they were all Fords. 400 and 401 were BL.

Because we're cheapskates in Norfolk?

Could well be! I can just imagine some eccentric farmer buying a Base Sierra as a hack, throwing hay bales and whatnot in the back.

I think our mystery one pictured is GCL 436Y. White 1600? Tax expired 1993.

Band T-shirt day on 6 Music today made me ponder the Nirvana one that I've hung onto. Haven't worn it for years and years, I know it's an early one because I'm pretty sure I bought it in when I saw them at a small venue in Norwich back in 1989.

Had a hunch it might have some value, but when I last looked it was something like £50 and it didn't seem worth the hassle of selling at that price.

Looked again today, people are asking three- and even four-figure sums for it:

Really?! Mine probably has a bit more patina, but even so it's something to think about......

Norwich Nationals are before my time - the oldest buses I remember when I moved here were Mk1 Merc T2s and the occasional Bristol VR.  One of the local private companies (Anglian?) had a Greenway up until about 10 years ago though.  I loved that bus - it bloody flew.
