Carrickfergus' latest public art installation.

'Your Da Bucks Yeeee!'; Anonymous, 2018

Mixed media of marker, chewing gum and paper sticker on metal signage, reminiscent of the traditional paramilitary-inflected Buckie Boy school, yet with the clear influence of more recent Belfast folk-art giants such as Soupy9Bar and Steeky Ryan.

A strong contender in the Spide Art category for this year's Royal Ulster Academy Show, for sure.

As always, ad hoc 'Meet the Artist' events are held nightly down behind the wall of the bowling club in Shaftesbury Park.

It's been more a total change in eating habits as opposed to effort and discipline. Basically I've just cut out the processed shit, limit your bread and dairy intake, and stuff my face with as many lean meats and fresh fruit and veg, pasta and rice as you want. I also have increased from breakfast lunch and dinner to breakfast, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Drinking 90 million gallons of water in this heat helps as well.

My naughty points are taken up with wine with dinner or a cheeseboard and glass of port. Except for the Ginsters I had this morning as I forgot my lunch box.

Well done, Mrs BMH has manage 2 stone with them.

That is outstanding DD - as a lucky bastard who never really puts it on - I know once I end up 'rotund' I'll effin well stay that way. I just couldn't do it. No willpower at all.......

On another note - I know the cup of the world isn't a major topic here, but the sheer volume of families out last night here in Belgium land - myself and munchkin were seriously outnumbered as we met friends (Hungarians) but they were fantastic and we had a great time. Nice to see a proper family evening out and the party was fantastic afterwards. Not a bad word said all evening.

Changed the front brake pads on the Merc last night. Why was this a thing to smile about? Well, given the slight* scuff on the very edge of this disc, I think I got my money's worth out of these pads:

Also, the discs were both in lovely condition, the old pads were really evenly worn (Thinnest is shown, thickest had just 1mm material remaining), they came out very easily, the pistons both pushed back with just a screwdriver, and the new ones were the correct part, and practically fell in.

Easiest brake pad change evAr. It's the little things.

Show off. Mine today with a very knackered piston seal and no inner pad to speak of.

Anyways, time for a grin.

Cat coughing - not a grin.

Getting cat in carrier - easy as pie (for a change)

School run traffic on the way to the vet - not a grin

Consultation and meds £82 - deffo  not a grin

Passenger side door card getting wedged meaning door would not open - mild grump

Plonking cat carrier on bonnet, drugs on roof whilst I sorted meself out - minor inconvenience

Putting cat carrier in back seat as pass door wedged - awkward

School run traffic on the way home - tiresome

Releasing cat on arrival - lovely

Looking for meds - hmm.

I think you know where this is going....one of these moments

I just assumed the sliding noises were berries or seeds dropping off as I'd parked under a tree. Nope.

Driving back to the vets, this time in rush hour traffic - grump

Drugs scattered all over car park - apprehensive

But intact - grin...

Longbridge and Linwood, if you want any you'll have to wait as they are on a 3 day week at the moment

Daughter broke up with boyfriend this morning.

Fucking over the moon. Could not be happer, and she seems pretty fine about it too so got the beers in for when she finishes work.

He's a proper grade one bellend and even though it took her a while, I am so proud that she stood up to him and called him out on his manipulation, mind games and bullshit. He got absolutely vile towards her last night and then got all sobby expecting her to go round and make up. She just said "Naah, gonna sleep on it thanks". This morning he just fucking flipped because she didn't play the game as he expected, screaming in her face when she went round for her stuff and to give him his key back.

I 'spotted' this soft top visa a few years back, and saw it agin today being driven by what looked like the same bloke - I couldn't have described him at all but recognised him immediately :)

I was driving into the supermarket carpark and saw him getting into the car so had the camera ready to pap him as he passed by

Happy birthday! I hope you've managed to fit in some chod bothering.

Thanks! Sadly not, as I’ve been at work and then at a works do at my boss’s gaff in London. A good night that began well with a spot, a Volvo 240 still earning its keep in ultra posh Belsize Park:

Just off to Borneo for two weeks. I am very excited.

Currently an amber alert for kidnapping in the area so if I do get taken, can I publicly bequeath the mx5 to Bucketeer as long as he looks after our two dogs.

Posted

You want an Irish passport for that, if you then get kidnapped it'll be by mistake and they might even give you a few quid and whatever old bits of scrap they have lying around.

...How thick are squaddies?

Having heard some of the tales from an acquaintance who served in Afghanistan and Iraq, I get the impression that squaddies are not necessarily thick, but they do tend to think laterally. All kinds of inventive thoughts....

Just had my ears jet washed out, I can hear again! Should have had it done before shitefest really, apologies if I ignored anyone due to not hearing them!

I'm more concerned that someone is using a knife and fork for a meal which would most easily be eaten with a spoon...
